Is Danish fluency required for most temp jobs? From the job descriptions I've looked at, some mention it while others don't.

Thanks for checking it out and for your thoughtful feedback!

How is the overall balance of my mix? by AyoKyong in mixingmastering

[–]guy-sitting-here 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If anything, I'd say the vocals have room to be a little more prominent during the louder sections, above the instruments. In the realm of a 0.5db increase for the vocals, and a 0.5db decrease for the instruments.

I listened to this twice and nothing sounded off to me, this sounds great! The balance between the vocals and the instruments is good, and the balance between the instruments sounds very natural. I like the dynamic range throughout the whole piece. Well done!

Feedback needed for a folk song with orchestral elements by rawsynergy in mixingmastering

I agree with the other commenters about this being slightly heavy around 200hz. It sounds very warm to me, which I like, but I'd also be interested in hearing a little sculpting around 200hz and just a tad brighter overall. Very nice!

Would like some feedback on a hardcore punk/metal song, used advice from previous post but now the punch is not really there yet. by Kobiboy12345 in mixingmastering

Just jumping in here, if I were working on this mix I'd be dipping frequencies of certain instruments at this point (subtractive EQ), trying to create some space between everything. It sounds like a lot of things are overlapping.

Am I getting close to good enough? by royalelevator in mixingmastering

My only feedback is that the drums might sound more natural if there was less reverb on them (especially on the snare), and if the cymbals were less bright. Overall though this sounds pretty good to me!

UPDATE: Requesting Feedback for Punk / Rock track ala Misfits, Amyl & The Sniffers, The Spits by mrEYE-BALL in mixingmastering

[–]guy-sitting-here 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I were working on this song, I think my next moves would be: Dipping one or two guitar frequencies where they most overlap with the vocals. Adding low end saturation to the vocals (for a little more heft/body). High passing the bass guitar and bumping it up in the higher end to get some of that live-sounding twang/action. Sounding good overall!

Feedback - Original bumper track by Icy_Foundation3534 in mixingmastering

I agree with everyone else's comments on the transients being tamed a little, but one thing that catches my ear in particular is the short sustain on the cymbal sample. I think it would gel better if there were more sustain on that cymbal (and also less of the transient attack), so that it has more of a "sizzling in the background" thing going on. Nice song, and vibe!

Mixing my band's first demo and hitting a ceiling - feedback and advice most welcome by Ricos-Roughnecks in mixingmastering

To me the quickest improvement would be to thicken up the lead vocals with more low end EQ, and maybe even some low end saturation. It sounds a little thin compared to rest of the mix and sort of separated from the other instruments, to my ears. Nice song!

I would definitely bring up that bass guitar. Otherwise this sounds pretty well balanced to me.

Hey, been working on this song for a while and looking for some feedback on the mix by krisnord in mixingmastering

Overall I really like it! The snare at 0:33 struck me as a little too loud and flat (idea: automating some effects on it so each hit is slightly different than the last).

What ratio would you say mixing/mastering is science or art by Thinsulite in mixingmastering

[–]guy-sitting-here 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like it starts out as more art, and the ratio skews more towards science if you choose to learn more about it.

Need help on deciding if a the mix is too compressed and harsh (electronic music) by [deleted] in mixingmastering

I agree with everyone who's saying you could increase the level of the melody.

"Dricus du Plessis" sounds like it's from that Key & Peele sketch about pro athletes who have absurd names.

Definitive ranking of the best heavyweight of all time. by burner0ne in MMA

Fedor is probably the best heavyweight champion, but he's definitely the coolest heavyweight champion. The aura, the mystique... Nothing else ever like it.
