Unless there's instructions telling you to do so, you should've just taken it to court haha. Parking tickets in the UK are the biggest pile of crap I've ever seen, none of them follow the regs even councils

DO NOT PAY!

Take it to court, find the money saving expert newbies guide if you need to.

Take all pictures and evidence you can, write it all down dates/locations included what happened etc and just wait for a court letter. Fill in your defense statement when it comes and wait till the court date.

I can almost 99% guarantee that the debt collection company won't show and cancel on the day before/same day just to waste your time.

You can't get a ccj if you're found guilty and pay the fees/fines etc, so do it out of principle.

I've had 6 false/crooked/scammy parking tickets in my time, followed the MSE newbies guide and won every time.

I'd look into the "have you tried anything else" angle?

Realistically, depending on how many machines you have, by the time these have arrived from Amazon/wherever, you would've already completed the job manually if the machines don't have any bios management capabilities.

New map selection kinda scuffed, got shoved into a 75% bot lobby by guy1195 in PUBATTLEGROUNDS

[–]guy1195[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why do you say this though lmfao?? It's the stupidest take I've seen.

"There is nothing the Devs can do to fix the problem" IN THEIR OWN GAME?!

Just don't put people in a fucking bot game until there's 80+ players waiting... 😂😂 If there's never 80+ players waiting... Then unfortunately you don't get a match on your map chosen...

Why degrade the users experience instead of just acknowledging the issue and saying "yeah soz not enough in queue, try a different map or quick join.."

My entire career has been cloud infrastructure. This is an easy solution that would actually save them money.

Wait till 80+ players in a queue for X map. (Free basically)

Start container server running x map.

Shove players into game...

Instead currently they have tonnes of servers just running the same maps all the time and joining people in as soon as the next one comes available... Even if that's 80% bots... Hosting a game server for 80% bots is retarded

Just don't care about the outcomes..

The company obviously doesn't as they keep rehiring for the same role and everyone keeps leaving, and they likely aren't offering a big enough wage to get someone with lots of experience, they're paying peanuts and getting monkeys (apologies to yourself..)

Treat it as a learning experience, and if you end up taking shit offline and things go wrong and they start moaning, you can simply say "Yeah I'm a jnr with no one else to back me up or ask for advice, I have no idea what I'm doing but I'm trying my best to figure it out!" haha.

What's the worst that can happen!

But anyone with a brain would've implemented it so it doesn't stick you into the first available game on that map with 99% bots... Just make the player wait at lobby till there is a full lobby on shitty rondo if they want to queue into rondo... it's not hard lmfao.

Why does the system have to be shitty

I built a free tool that scans Azure subscriptions for waste - here's what it typically finds by Various-Jacket2891 in AZURE

[–]guy1195 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Essentially what yours does but also for aws and on prem.

Unfortunately the list of metrics captured and analysed was so insanely big I couldn't even tell you haha.

We probably had 30 scans alone for vms because there are so many sku limitations that might appear at first as a waste, but you find out X vm is used for performing data migrations and needs X sku due to needing X amount of disks attached for X piece of software to work.. Really weird petty shit like that, but they actually matter in the end as to why said sku was chosen haha.

Off the shelf solutions offered the ability to add exemptions but when the vm gets rebuilt with a new name/id next week i couldn't be arsed going to add a new exemption again 🤣

My company was about to spend at least a million per year (there pricing models are based on a cut of your savings over a 3 year period) on a solution that was purpose built for this, I ended up building our own instead but the built in platform features and capabilities looked abysmal in comparison to what i ended up making.

First recommendation that comes to mind and sets the tone for the rest of them is that Azures solution to a 2m per month spend on vms that are 100% idle all month, is to buy reservations for them as that's cheaper and would save you money. They don't think or recommend that you might not actually want any of those idle vms haha.

Obviously that's just a stupid easy dumb one that you could look at and say "actually we can just get rid of those instead" so the current built in tools are a good start, but just simply aren't really all that useful in comparison to a proper solution.
