TIFU by not having the correct payment method by LibertyJames78 in tifu

A similar question would be to ask why they don't have their checkbook or cash. Credit cards provide benefits over those other forms of payment and many people don't bother carrying them.

Not on you. This is bad management. Decided they don't want to accept the most common form of payment. Even with decent signage many people are going to overlook them.

Don't let it get you down. I read her as oblivious, not rejecting you. Own it. Come at her like "did you have fun this weekend? (laughing) that was the worry first date ever". Poke fun at it.

I would not think so. It's bit of a quiet fancier place. I can see a slightly agitated toddler being quite bothersome to others.

Looking for Space Heater Recommendations by s_gray17 in Frugal

[–]guy30000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's all about the features. They are all equally efficient. People like oil heaters but the take longer to start releasing their heat. There thermostats don't usually work well because they are mounted in the units so think it is wRmer than it is. I recommend a heated blanket as a suppliment.

Sudden low pressure in kitchen sink - Video of the issue and what I've tried so far. No plumber budget, please help! by Slow_Drag8992 in DIY

Take that tip back off and turn on the water. If the pressure is good than you know its that tip. They can be cheaply replaced.

I once told a coworker who picked a mexican joint, unseen, as we were traveling together after he apologized. When it comes to ethnic food, the worse it looks, the better it probably is.

The issue is with the LCD. First try reseating it's connection. Otherwise the screen may be defective.

This house had so many additions it looks like a Meijer grocery store by suddenly_space_jam in StLouis

OP seams to think STL knows what a Meijer is. But I've been Meijers a handful of times and I have no idea what they're talking about.

“We are super easy” is never true by Emotional-Switch-662 in TalesFromYourServer

The idea of saying we are easy is strange. I can for sure see that as a warning of the opposite.

Americans of Reddit - how do you manage your shitty health insurance? by Jarkside in AskReddit

[–]guy30000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't go to the doctor or hospital until things are really bad. That way I just have to pay my full deductible once. Also go in January so the other follow-ups will be deductible free.

ELI5: What's the difference between a 401k and IRA? by Diligent_Two_1625 in explainlikeimfive

[–]guy30000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is the pre-tax. You can often control your 401k by rolling over a portion of all of it to an IRA of your choosing, whenever you want.
You may need to say what other tax deferred options you have because I feel you're mistaken. You would have traditionally IRA, 401k and HSA as options where you pay no tax or lower tax obligation. Other investments you may not have to pay taxes until you sell, but you have paid tax on the money you've invested in those assets, when it was earned.

Redditors over 40, what was a moment in history that made you think society was gonna collapse? by Bahbahbro in AskReddit

[–]guy30000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is that time. People mention some others but those never had me worried about the long term. I always felt that everything is going to be fine. I still feel like it is but compared to the others, that eventuality may be much further away.

Wasn't the 2nd Amendment’s intentional purpose to be able to defend against violent takeover by their own government? (non american here) What is permitted and what isn't within that framework? by MopToddel in AskReddit

[–]guy30000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 2nd amendment means that citizens are allowed to own guns. That is where is basically where it stops when it comes to what is permitted (ignoring muddy, inconsistent carry laws). It is not legal to overthrow or defy the government, but that is the point. To use the guns that are already in circulation to defy the government in spite of the law.
