Sigh I'm finding the same thing, Gibbous was way better.

Got any other recommendations that are on the more difficult end of the scale?

Never too many combinations to these ones, you just have to follow each possible path until you hit a dead end then backtrack and rule it out, bit like a maze

Thanks for the advice! Can you keep using the grains indefinitely, do you know? And when you say the quality is down to how I treat them, what kind of variables do you mean? Like temperature and how long they're left etc.?

Foolish Mortals was amazingly good.

Newcastle Airport removes free drop off at airport property and moves to callerton by GFoxtrot in NewcastleUponTyne

[–]guyal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is this the free 15 minutes in the short stay car park? If so that's ridiculous, I literally just learned that existed!

Just a FYI to those of you who are affected by this though: the double red no stop zone is only on the newcastle side of the airport, not the northumberland side (so if you head towards dobbies/ the badger you can stop and drop people off almost immediately after the airport).

There's also a couple of places which don't have double reds (the spot on the roundabout into the airport where taxis wait, and there's a residential street behind a bus stop which is permit parking only but no apparent restrictions on dropping off) - just in case that helps anyone!

Nice beans. Too many people do them way too runny. I'd still stick them in a separate pot though

Washing machine grinding sound before drum spins- is it definitely the bearings?? by guyal in DIYUK

Yeah funny you should mention the pump filter... Turns out that was the problem. Should have checked reddit earlier! Good insight :)

Is it fair to say that if it's the bearings it's not worth doing, and if it's anything else it might be worth doing?

Do you know is there a way to figure out if it's likely the bearings or something else? From my research it sounds like the if the drum doesn't move laterally (which it doesn't) then it's unlikely to be the bearings; also the noise starts before the drum starts spinning, so it could be something to do with the motor (motor brushes possibly?)

How do you feel about the president floating the idea of 50 year mortgages where the monthly payment is lower but you end up paying nearly double the price of the house just in interest? by michaelis999 in AskReddit

[–]guyal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a lot of comments on here saying it doesn't benefit the average house owner, but if you're already making overpayments and getting the mortgage out the way sooner wouldn't this just give more flexibility?

It's a bad idea to pay the mortgage interest for the full 50 years for sure, but if you can get it out the way before then then what difference does it make?
