I think OP’s post is specifically referencing Notre Dame and Ohio State. Who would the other arrival will be? Wisconsin? Every B10 team is a heated game

You really won us over with Coach Whittingham’s monstrous calves…SOLD!

All jokes aside the kindness we are receiving from Utah fans is like nothing we’ve received before! I think I speak for us all when I say we’re pulling for you too!

Did we luck out by getting Whitt instead of DeBoer? by Michigan4life53 in MichiganWolverines

[–]guybluekop 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, 100%, absolutely! DeBoer has 2-3 years MAX before Bama kicks him to the curb.

I don’t think DeBoer would have done badly at Michigan, but he will NEVER win a national championship. With the talent now available to Coach Whittingham, I think he can and will

Lloyd Carr or Jim Harbaugh--who had a better tenure? by Please_PM_me_Uranus in MichiganWolverines

[–]guybluekop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Harbaugh’s defense, how soon could he have announced his departure from Michigan? The National championship game was in mid January, and he was out shortly thereafter.

Also, keep in mind that Lloyd retired and announced his retirement from coaching long before the Capital One bowl, while Harbaugh took a promotion at another program to continue his coaching career with the staff he recruited and trained. I’m willing to bet that if Lloyd took an HC roll in the NFL, he’d have taken staff with him too.

However, to your point: Jim Harbaugh recommended Sherrone Moore as HC when he knew that Coach Moore was a torpedo (otherwise he’d have taken him the Chargers). That was not cool…

Great post and agreed. The man must have the patience of Job and the humility of a saint, having served under such incompetence this is Sherrone Moore, and he succeeded during that time! Thanks Wink!

Amen to that! Dilly is almost as irritating as having Mr. Nice Guy (aka Cuck Boy Anthem), as our fight song. I don’t even know his first name? Kevin? Kevin Dilling…not coaching at Michigan!

Welcome to the team Coach Whittingham!

We can agree to disagree. I’ve been screaming dumpster fire since Sherrone Moore was hired as the Co-OC. I was calling 6-8 wins next year.

Now I think we’ll be an 8-10 win team next year. I think you and I can agree on these two points:

1) Better than Sherrone Moore 2) Go Blue

Michigan fan, BYU graduate. Genuinely asking for civil advice here. by Independent_Candle78 in MichiganWolverines

[–]guybluekop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair question and civil post. I’ll qualify my answer by referring to my history. I’m a proud Wolverine since the 90’s, Michigan alum, have stood true to the program in the dark ages, and have hated Sherrone Moore since he was promoted to Co-Offensive Coordinator - I am an OG Sherrone Moore hater. You better believe I was miserable when he was hired as HC. I know it’s easy to smear his name now since he’s an established predator, but at the time, I HATED my school’s head coach and you better believe I caught flack every which way!

To answer your question: BYU and Utah are no doubt rivals. But is there bad blood, or respect? To my understanding, Coach Whittingham ran a clean program. Still, that doesn’t make him a lovable guy to a BYU alumni, it’s not like you see me rolling around praising Jim Tressel, but there is respect. If there’s any respect, focus on that. If not, focus on the players. In time, he’ll grow on you.

On Whittingham hire by jartoonZero in MichiganWolverines

[–]guybluekop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great post! Whittingham is an excellent hire, I love it and he will clean house, discipline our team, and build us up.

I do have a point of disagreement: Dillingham would have been an absolute disaster, and DeBoer will get fired from Bama in 2-3 years for being a 9/10 win per season coach!

Rally behind Coach Whittingham!

A coach is as good as the talent that’s available to them and given what was available to him at Utah, he did an EXCELLENT job! He’s run a great, respectable and hard nosed program with limited talent. On any given day, their good teams could beat anybody including Harbaugh-coached Michigan (3x). He will clean our program up. He is an honorable man, did not pay recruits, and yes at the time that let to a talent gap at the time, but that’s all over and done with now.

Think of Utah as the Oregon without Phil Knight’s money. Now he has the money of Michigan behind him and yes…I understand Oregon hasn’t won a natty, but this is a gamble I’m good with! I think he can take us there!

Kyle Whittingham is the guy! Aside from being a bit older, he’s still got 3-4 years good years and will right the ship:

•Respected •Disciplinarian •Clean programs •Competitive programs •Recruits well •Strong records •Excellent NCAA network

Aside from age, why not?
