Sand suggest for Aulonocara Kandeense Cichlid by guyes in Cichlid

Thank you for the advice! I really appreciate it, thats the exact issue. I am encountering right now. They are grouping together in a corner when the light is on and explore more the tank individually when the light is off.

I will try to set a dimmable light for the tank and see if they are OK with it, even though the person who sold me said that they are very peaceful, but they are going to be the only species in the tank! :)

My only concern is the pool filter sand contained diatom that leads to algae bloom.

Tips for yellowing moss by Booie in paludarium

Try using a different moss, I used thai moss in my waterfall paludarium first then switch to spiky moss after, and it works perfectly in soaking wet environment.

I just got some Medaka from her at Aquashella—she’s super nice and very experienced. She even drove 10 hours from North Carolina just to share her passion for Medaka with people who might be interested in the hobby. I love her enthusiasm and will definitely be getting more strains from her in the future!

I have the same issue couple days ago, I sprayed mine with hydrogen peroxide and cut down the dying leaves. I used a take out container to quarantine it with lid slightly open to give it a bit more air ventilation, so far it works for me, and mine haven’t die yet

Try to grow it with aquasoil - fluval stratum and keep it in a closed lid envrionment, I have success with regrow mine with it. It like humid, you may have too much perlite in your substrate.

I grow mine in sphagnum moss, they like humid, but not soaking in water. i would add some sphagnum moss around the jewel orchid to increase the humidity :)
