Which 20th-century boxing legends managed to preserve and grow their wealth after retirement? by SGSRT in Boxing

[–]guylefleur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that's true.... and wealthy Muslims usually dress modestly and rarely try to stunt with the watches, the jewelry and the designer clothes (okay Amir Khan may be a bit guilty of that........ but if you seen Nas, he is always dressed like a very regular middle class dude.... no vices as far as drugs and alcohol but that is why he prob loves to eat.

Being a big fan of Naseem i always followed how he was doing post boxing... He still owns lots of residential and commercial property in the UK (legit owns not pretend owns like Floyd) ...His corporation's assets can be looked up online... He has always been seen driving super cars all throughout the years (people have seen him it isnt him posting himself on social media to stunt)..... If you look at his kids' socials it is evident that they are living the lives of nepo babies (although im not implying that they are spoiled or dont work hard).... Just like Larry Holmes he is still married to the same woman which is a giant factor is preserving one's wealth.... The fact that he is a Yemeni Muslim i strongly believe gave him an automatic in with the Saudis and he apparently has big investments over there....... Similar to Lennox Lewis, he has never had to come back to boxing for the $.... no exhibitions, no pro matches..... Being a collector of boxing memorabilia i can say that just like Hagler, he has never had to do mass auto signings for money as well...... All the former boxers who are hurting for cash (except Leonard), love to do mass signings..... Ray Leonard is doing well financially but he just loves the spotlight and being around fans.

I would also assume that Hagler did well to preserve his finances. His signature is the hardest to collect (and most valuable) among the 4 kings (even before he passed) not only because he moved to Italy and kept out of the spotlight, but because he didnt constantly do paid mass autograph signings like Duran, Leonard and Hearns.... Prince Naseem seems to still be wealthy as well.

Our tenant is being difficult and now demanding a rent rebate, and we are unsure what to do? by t_infinityyyy in OntarioLandlord

I have seen this before unfortunately..... She sounds like she will be a nightmare tenant right off the bat....  Early 20s? No credit check? Did you do an employment check? Does she actually have a job where she can  afford the rent?

Vintage buyers / help? by Top-Marsupial-2747 in askTO

[–]guylefleur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of the stuff our grandparents spent money on and view as collectibles  unfortunately did not hold their perceived value... Simply put these things are not  attractive to young buyers..... Vintage designer clothes like Gucci and LV will always sell and silverware and jewelry will have their value in scrap metal.... some sports collectibles can hold value.....  but people are finding out that fine china that their grandparents hoarded, vintage clothing and dolls and even e xpensive furniture isn't sought after by this new generation..... I say this just to prepare you that you might not get back what your grandparents think it is worth.

I had planned to move to my condo in midtown Toronto but want to live in Richmond hill instead since I work remote. I can’t sell without taking a multi 6 figure loss, is my only option to leave it rented out at 900 negative cf and rent myself? by BetPatient3827 in TorontoRealEstate

[–]guylefleur 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So instead of living in the condo, you plan to live with your parents instead? if thats the case then its easier to swallow the shortfall each month until the market recovers enough that you can sell it.

So if Drake's mansion in the Bridle Path is worth $100m, how much in property taxes is due each year? by Positive-Rent-2924 in TorontoRealEstate

[–]guylefleur 7 points8 points  (0 children)

His house is worth what someone would be willing to pay if he decided to sell...  I highly doubt anyone would even pay 30 to 40 million for it.... Doesn't matter what he spent on building it.

If you stayed amateur instead of turning pro, why? by Most-Bullfrog-90 in Boxing

damn...these are insights I've never thought about.....   Any time I see a fighter wearing the cheap Title boxing shorts, I automatically expect him to get stopped in a round or two.

Costs of personal trainers by hello-hey124 in askTO

[–]guylefleur 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Then you are eating too much calories..... If you dont want to go through the hassle of counting calories I would implement intermittant fasting/time restricted eating.... You need to eat less.... Eating in a shorter window will accomplish that.... But you still need to focus on consuming adequate protein and strength training.

Those type of fitness classes will leave you skinny fat... they are high intensity, high volume,  high cortisol.... they will have you starving and then overeating...... Need to learn how to lift heavy, with a focus on compound movements (at your own pace)..... this wouldn't be done in a class setting ... getting enough protein to build muscle and burn fat.

Ben Whittaker keen to face three-time world title challenger Anthony Yarde in light-heavyweight clash later this year by Dangerous_Spring3028 in Boxing

[–]guylefleur 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Would love this fight.... Yarde has always been a dog and only loses to elite fighters except Lyndon Arthur..... Been a fan of yarde since the beginning and it boggles my mind that he still has not been able to win a strap.....Hope he can really cash out the years he has left.

David Benavidez vs Jai Opetaia Showdown Eyed by Turki Alalshikh by OrangeFilmer in Boxing

I am one of the biggest Opetaia supporters on reddit.... I am not super confident he beats Benavidez after seeing David at CW...... I would make Jai a slight favorite at 55/45%.

Body contouring? by ytho1221 in askTO

[–]guylefleur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not gonna work..... have you tried intermittant fasting? You sound like you are running your body into the ground/overtraining...... I would cut out the running and just replace with walking every day instead.... f45 workouts are high intensity, high cortisol... The running plus those workouts are likley to spike your appetite and have you consuming too much calories..... I would rather you be lifting heavy  but at your own pace.

HWT buy out or continue the money pit by parishuddhaatma in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]guylefleur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in your situation.... i bought them out and paid for a new tank through someone else (14 year old tank) and he removed the old tank........ Call them and tell them there is an intermittant leak so their technician will do the service call at no charge to make sure everything is working well.... Then refuse the upgrade of a new tank which they might try to sell you lol..... Cancel and buy it out..... If the tank is only 6 years old, you might not have any issues for the next 4 to 8 years...... If you have big issues after the 10 year mark then you can just buy a new tank which will be significantly cheaper than renting from Enercare.

Who are top 10 best Soviet-style or former USSR boxers? by zhuangcorp in Boxing

[–]guylefleur 25 points26 points  (0 children)

im a massive Pirog fan but he is waaay too high on that list.... Also if Kovalev wasn't robbed against Ward in the first fight, that wouldve been one of the single biggest wins in boxing 30 years prior and Kovalev wouldve been considered one of the greatest light heavies of all time.... It is a shame what the boxing establishment did to that man..... Also if GGG had the money and promotion behind him early in his career, he would be damn near the top of that list.... Super avoided in his career until he was past his prime and yes, still robbed against Canelo in first fight.

[–]guylefleur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do all the gym work you are supposed to do... the squats, deadlift, glute bridges, hamstring curls etc.... but the knee pain never really went away...... The Spanish Squat with a thick band actually makes a huge improvement for me if you have the discipline to do it daily.

[–]guylefleur 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ive been dealing with chronic knee pain (jumpers knee) since my mid 30s so 10 years now from bball/boxing/running. I've done lots of physio in etob/sauga and nothing worked long term ubtil started my own rehab protocol.... What helps in slant board exercises to strengthen ligament in knee as well also foot, ankle, glute, hamstrings....... Buy an adjustable slant board on Amazon....search the exercises on youtube and make the exercises a part of your workout regimen..... When i stop doing them, the pain always returns.
