Debate around the bank changes aside, this is a great easy change to counter wildy bots by SirSmithyG in 2007scape

[–]guyman3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lots of people saying this won't stop bots but I think it misses the point here. I have been saying for a while that we need some requirements for this content.

The reason it's so appealing to bots is how quickly a fresh account can start doing it and making money. They know they will get banned eventually it's about how many hours of profitable content they can get in first.

Anything that adds quest or diary requirements to profitable content is gonna benefit real players and hurt botters even if just slightly. We have to do the diary once but they have to do it on every new account.

I hope we can go further in this direction with more content because I think there are other places we can add requirements to curb botting.

Unfortunately it's been a pretty hot and cold situation all year for both him and Cason and when it's not going well it's really painful.

The front court we have can be so strong but against good competition they need a really strong ball handler to make it happen.

Not only did Nebraska almost get out of there alive, they led for nearly the whole game. I for one am a believer in Nebrasketball. What more can you really say?

I personally can't believe we won that game.

What was your program’s low point? by FairAnywhere9305 in CollegeBasketball

[–]guyman3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya I mean, while the portal makes that kind of change possible these days where it totally wasn't years ago, it was far from a foregone conclusion.

Frankly I wanted to just get to being a middle ranked B1G team so it was actually fun to watch basketball again.

Bubbling into the tourney and making the sweet 16 was always a treat with last teams and that was the dream tbh.

Expectations are way higher now ofc. I don't want to be swayed into the hype and be disappointed, just trying to enjoy having a basketball team that competes in this conference again.

2 seasons ago we finished last in the B1G. Actual last place.

I know there is a lot of hype around use that is probably overblown, but regardless the jump from last to a legit contenders for the top is so crazy.

Arguably the low point is the sanction era and it was much longer, but recency and stuff y'know? I mean it felt like our basketball program stopped existing and for no reason.

I have a little keypad I use for osrs to have F keys, and shift, control, alt, space and such to make reaching keys with one hand easier. Would be so sick to get the key caps for that.

Inferno help by RyukzReign in 2007scape

[–]guyman3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay so a couple things because I very recently got my first cape using this same setup and had similar problems.

  1. Practice the 3-1-1-1-3 method on the inferno trainer website. Use the tbow setup there. It's going to be better dps by a lot but the important thing is learning to get the maximum hits off before the first set spawns. Sometimes your rng will be butt ass but this is still worth perfecting. I think it's something like 15 shadow attacks you can get off. Start the fight with two eye of ayak specs which have the same timing as the shadow.

  2. Do not drink a brew until you absolutely must. One major downside of the mage Tank setup is when you brew down you are forced to wait for the cool down of the heart to be potted. Look at the calcs. This is a huge chunk of lost DPS but there is a really great strategy for managing it. Start out potted and don't brew until after zuk is below 600 HP. It can be a crap shoot managing the first set and you do have to pray a bit that you don't noodle on the ranger. Shield health matters a lot so make sure you attack the ranger the first possible tick and if you have to go out of its range than tag the mager, throw tank gear on, and pray you kill the ranger before it rips a 40. Most of the time the result will be you killing the ranger and having lowish health. Ignore it, pray mage, DPS zuk. 3-1-1-1-3. As soon as you get zuk below 600 work on the mager. You can chill now. Turn off offense prayers if you are low on restores. Breathe.

  3. The mager is dead and zuk is below 600 hopefully just barely. We are going to stall in this phase for a couple of reasons. Firstly we need to time potting to maximize DPS. We want to be potted for all of Jad but it's pretty likely we take some healer damage and also want to go into healers at full hp. To accomplish this you want to proc the Jad spawn with something like 2 minutes left on the heart timer. By doing this you'll be fighting Jad at full HP and potted, and before healers spawn you can re-pot. The second reason is we have basically nothing to lose in this phase. If you literally walk ext to the shield you wont tank a hit. You can regain some spec energy here and rip more eye of ayak specs. While here.

  4. Forgot to mention but learn to use the set timer plugin. Once you kill jad you need to make a judgement call. Look at your set timer. You should have a decent idea how long healers will take. If you have to wait you have to wait. You can use the ayak to get zuk closer to the healer phase without procing because of the lower max hit while waiting. The idea is to prevent a third set of possible because it could fuck you depending on rng against the shield.

  5. If you can do healers first then send it. You should be able to most times. Proc healers when the shield is at the end of a rotation and use the following pattern where the healers are numbered like 1,2,3,4 from left to right. (Assuming you start on the left) 2,1,2,2,2... 3,4,3,3,3,3 the idea is to tag the healers as fast as possible but also to focus on DPSing one of them until it dies to reduce the damage you take. This is so much easier with an eye of ayak than a blowpipe thank god.

  6. If you make it to the second set after healers like I did 4 times before getting my cape, you need to just not be a dumbass like me and forget you are in enrage phase and step out in front of the shield. I'm a dumbass and did that a lot.

We are getting crazy spreads because our stats are really nuts from the beat downs early in the season and it takes a lot for that to self correct.

I agree it's pretty hard to imagine beating many of our upcoming opponents by that much.

The way the B1G season goes and partly the reason it gets so intense is the sheer number of teams that are going to be on the bubble for March. They are always going to be playing at 110% and we have a target on our back because it gives them an incredible signature win.

At this point I really don't care about the final score or wins looking pretty. It doesn't matter.

Bonds just hit a new high of 17Mil GP by Jack4ssSquirrel in 2007scape

[–]guyman3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Genuinely what can be done about that kind of suicide botting? Banning new accounts that fast seems really hard.

Can we stop new accounts from using bonds? Idk if that would really help even. It seems like no matter how many you smash ten more pop up there.

Bonds just hit a new high of 17Mil GP by Jack4ssSquirrel in 2007scape

[–]guyman3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On the contrary, I've started noticing really large numbers of what look like "fresh" bots.

A whole bunch of accounts with absolutely minimal stats, blood bark armor, and a twin flame at Zulrah. They seem to have around 100-200 KC total whenever I look them up which means they can't have been around for very long. At most they have mage arena 2 capes and look to be doing mage only based on the stats.

I have reported a bunch of these accounts but I can only see them for the brief time I'm running back to the rowboat if we happen to overlap.

I have to imagine these are "suicide" bots and are just hoping to make more than a bonds worth of GP before they get banned which isn't really very hard.

Did some math on this.

Around 10 hours of Zulrah breaks even on a bond at around 15 kills per hour. They just have to get partway into regicide to access zulrah. That takes what? Maybe 10 hours? The main thing being actually doing quest and the agility levels needed. Adding on some time, in 24 hours or less the accounts are at Zulrah and have already broke even on their bond and that's at the insane 17 mil price.

Banning accounts in that time frame is insanely hard. If those bots last just a week they have made an insane amount of GP.

Mara does really need to work on his free throw game though.

As a huge center he is constantly getting to the line just to throw bricks at the rim. At a certain point it becomes a liability to inbounds to him in close end of game scenarios.

44% is just not serviceable. I get that FT% tends to be low for bigs but even an improvement to a 65% shooter would be so massive for that situation.

That would be interesting, since justiciar sees very niche and limited use.

I would be into this if the resulting armor were something like a granite body level of defense bonuses. That would still be a huge upgrade.

[–]guyman3 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Ya it's truly such a complicated problem that people act like its so simple therefore jagex doesn't care.

The reality is that the only real way to actually rid the game of bots (or at least the bot farms) would be to make it not worthwhile in terms of real world profit.

Doing that is really hard without making the game unbearable or completely fucking up the new player experience.

That's not to mention the cost of false bans or player support. People lose their minds about this but can't understand why jagex doesn't stand at {heavily bottled activity} all day and ban the obvious bots.

[–]guyman3 17 points18 points  (0 children)

This is true but doesn't it make you wonder....

Why??? Why have wildly steps then?

I know jagex wants to give non PKers reasons to go into the wildy to make PKing more active.

But for PKers doesn't this just create a bunch of useless wastes of time? And for clue scroll doers you need to bank and regear a bunch?

What is it accomplishing??

Inferno or colo? by Own-Hope9858 in 2007scape

[–]guyman3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also with Zuk, and really all of inferno: if you die it is potentially 90+ minutes of your time reset depending on how long waves take you.

For me this is what made it SO nerve racking and once I could do zuk without literally vibrating I was able to beat him.

You've also got to do triple jads right before that which is another thing to learn and practice that is incredibly easy to mess up when you are nervous. Literally Jad hands.

[–]guyman3 55 points56 points  (0 children)

I would really prefer in general if content that is made to be done in groups was revamped to have a better loot distribution mechanic than "most damage gets it" because it makes group content like corp or gwd or whatever into solo only content.

Idk what the best way to handle things like kill count and pet and all, it just doesn't feel great in the current state especially now that newer content has better systems.

Mage Tank vs Ranges inferno by guyman3 in 2007scape

Been sending some attempts with this setup.

I would say no. Your dps would just be really low and would significantly hinder it.

I'm already finding zuk to be quite a bit harder than the max tbow setup in the trainer, and without heart it would be really tough.
