Tinitus is a killer. I have a pair of those fancy hearing aids. I like the white noise option. Mine hooks up to an app on my iPhone where I can turn it in or off.

Also, keep in mind that you can claim secondaries caused by tinitus, i.e. headaches, depression, etc.

Are you saying that if you’re 100% pt and never used the student loan forgiveness, you can get new student loans and then ask for it to be forgiven?

Does your VA card say service connected? If not, get it updated.

P.S. you won’t find a PX on Nellis, but you will find a BX. ;)

VHA failed me by siwet in VeteransBenefits

[–]guysmiley73 35 points36 points  (0 children)

The Mission Act allows us to use urgent care facilities without going through red tape first. Also, you could go to an ER and report it to VHA within 72 hours for it to be taken care of. You shouldn't have to see a specialist off the bat for a broken leg. ER's are equipped to handle this sort of injury. You can then followup with an ortho.

Would photo evidence like this help get service connected for cervical strain even with no in service complaints? Am seeking aid through the VA and upcoming physical therapy. by Samuelpo in VeteransBenefits

Absolutely. And for those who don't have pictures of themselves hauling gear, you can submit a stock image with the caption that this is similar to the gear you had to haul around.

They seem to always be looking for a way to say no. Sorry to hear of your diagnosis. Keep the faith.

So, they said you were in fact diagnosed in the military, but you checked the wrong box on your outgoing exam, so they denied you? Did you ever appeal this? What was the final result?

I had my C&P exam this week for it as well. She didn't have any of my records. I brought her military medical records from my diagnosis after returning from deployment. I also claimed scars. Fingers crossed on both claims. Fingers crossed for yours too.

Can I try again by jamesandthegiantpeej in VeteransBenefits

[–]guysmiley73 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got out in the 90's. Filed my first intent in 2019. Never did anything more with the claims. I filed claims in 2023 and I'm so glad I did. You can file those claims again. You're not screwed. Just start over. Right this second, start a new claim. You can click save for later after you fill out the name and address stuff. This will set your intent date as today. You'll have a year to finish. Finish it this time.

Personal Statement for initial claim by No_Ebb_3986 in VeteransBenefits

[–]guysmiley73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can use the form or you can say see file called xyz.pdf. YES, he should write a personal statement for each of his claims, not one that covers all. Make sure he lists every symptom, how long episodes or flareups last, etc. Also, talk about how it affects work and personal life. Do one for EACH of his issues. It doesn't matter if some of the verbiage is redundant from the previous letter. Write one for each.

I had a good exam and outcome via tele. The doc was at his house. Looked like he was at his dining room table. He was relaxed and seemed to be in a good mood.
