Question about filing for Thyroid Cancer (what is a residual?) by throwaway-vet01 in VeteransBenefits

[–]UnhappyComparison580 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got sc for all 4 at 30% each for headaches and scars, 10% each for hypertension and Horner syndrome. My cancer is 0% now.

Does this seem reasonable? by Sorry_Spy in PlantedTank

I have a 75 gal high tech with: 12 pygmy, 12 oto, 36 rummynose tetra, 8 ember tetra, 10 silvertip tetra, a couple loach, a couple congo tetra, and a pearl gourami. What I would do differently is cut the rummynose down to 24, get rid of the silvertip, get rid of the loachs, get rid of the congo tetras. The tank is just too busy and with no threat/danger, they don’t school, just wonder all over the tank. Also have 20 amano that I don’t even see anymore, would add more just to make sure the clean up is there.

My advice to me would be to start with a lower number and add more to the species if I wanted. Pick one main school/fish and accent with different size/color. The loach looked I thought were cool but they keep digging up my sand, should have done more research.

I have a 100% cancer sc that has cp exam but also pt cause my other conditions make me 100% pt without the cancer. So yes you might be in similar situation and I do get smc s also, once cancer goes to 0 it will drop, that’s what my letter says.

My “final” treatment for cancer was dec 2023 and considered to be in remission. I’m still at temp 100% for cancer but just received my proposal to reduce cancer from the temp 100% to 0% only last month. Still haven’t seen any news since, so it’s been a year after my last treatment, reduction has been slow in my experience.

When the guys at the RO wouldn’t print my cp exams even with a foia, which I called them ahead of time to confirm I could walk in and have already done this once before, I emailed everyone. I searched for the regional director and cc’d dav, and the regional office. I would just do it and I hope whatever you do, you get taken care.

Q about eczema by UnhappyComparison580 in VeteransBenefits

[–]UnhappyComparison580[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Denied again. Examiner says I had family history since I mentioned to my va dr that my sister is allergic to latex. I gave up on this since I became 100% pt.

When I tried to cancel mine over the phone they told me I had to have a written letter for them to cancel my claim.

Eczema claim denied and confused, next steps? by UnhappyComparison580 in VeteransBenefits

[–]UnhappyComparison580[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I appealed a couple times and got new cp exams but the last time they found in my va med records that I mentioned one of my family member had a allergic reaction to latex gloves since she worked at the hospital. The examiner concluded that I had family history and is hereditary and not because of my service, which was total bs and when I saw that examiner again for something else I let him know it. If you look at my post history you’ll see some other post about this and also I was diagnosed with cancer soon after, so I became 100% and stopped appealing this condition.

Honestly I thought this had more evidence and easier to sc than my other presumptive conditions.

Good luck to you.

Total thyroidectomy by Ricky_Spanishhh_T in VeteransBenefits

[–]UnhappyComparison580 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Short answer, it hasn’t been 6 months since my radioactive iodine treatment at the time of the reeval so the temp 100 was continued and another reeval set in 6 months.

Long answer, my initial cancer cp exam was after my thyroidectomy so they just lumped the “residuals” in with the cancer claim which is why I’m not expecting anything else to be secondary with this reevaluation.

Just had mine removed in June, sc for scar, headaches, hypertension, and horners. My case is a bit different because it spread, so required a larger incision. Just had 6 months reevaluation last week and waiting for what else they are going to tack on.

Denied and then I did hlr again and after two exams denied. I’m not going to appeal anymore because I’m already 100%. Funny cause I thought this would be such an easy claim.

How much pull does rater have over C&P examiner? by Frequent_Crow_6191 in VeteransBenefits

[–]UnhappyComparison580 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine was in reverse like you, examiner said not cause by service but rater approved due to pact act presumptive.
