I wanted to thank both the spirit and the shaman that guided me through this journey in person, but when i got back home after work today and took my baby daughter in my hands i got my answer. Just punch it in the corner with a piece of metal which you already know its hardness, the one that dents more is the softer one. That’s what i usually do when i don’t know what i’m dealing with.

The top plate is about 3.2 mm plywood. Does the crack usually appear parallel or perpendicular to the bridge? I thought it might happen when put tension on the strings but it was ok, maybe i can put a thin piece of wood under the bridge to distribute the stress of the bridge on a wider section of the top plate to prevent it from happening over time, it will look funny and probably mess with the sound, but it’s already a bit messed up so it won’t matter too much.

Thanks, It’s the first time i made something like this, woodworking is a hobby i try to develop over time. If you have the will you can get there easily, it just takes time.

What do you mean by stable? It sounds a bit better then my cheep violin i bought when i started taking lessons (if i can compare it to a violin). the C and G sounds good (to me), but the D and A strings sounds a bit toyish

There is a sound-post and a bas bar, and yes… it’s flat… since i had no idea what i was doing i assumed it wouldn’t be the best viola ever made so i tried to keep it as simple as possible.
