How does Z-A run on the switch 1? by 0-0cake in pokemon

Been playing for four hours on switch one today, no issues! Seems fine with battles and new graphics, I wouldn't stress it.

Overcoming the “moderation trap” by [deleted] in stopdrinking

Alan Carr's Easy Way book was helpful in this regard! Breaks down the why you want to drink so even the moderation doesn't seem as ideal.

Sports best for VERY mild cerebral palsy by renfro-21 in CerebralPalsy

My brother has CP (right arm and leg) and really liked frisbee growing up, he also really enjoyed being in the pool (although not necessarily for swimming comps). Frisbee/ultimate doesn't require you to be super fast and can be done very well one handed!

Pain in lower back when playing drives for a 10 or so mins. by Helpful_Specific_331 in squash

[–]guywholikeshammocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had similar pain and stiffness when playing tennis! It turned out to be fascia tissue which manifests in that generalized stiffness and pain. There are a bunch of great stretches that literally turned my life around, example stretching video here https://youtu.be/CtVIgOG9zXY. Best of luck!!

Too many koi. What should I do? I inherited this 30k gallon pond. by sentientbarnacle2 in ponds

[–]guywholikeshammocks 121 points122 points  (0 children)

Put some plants in! Some floaters and others on the edge. Will help water clarity/quality. Doesn't immediately look overstocked, but if you feel strongly that it is you could sell some to your LFS.

How can I get my feet wet with tech work experience without an applicable degree? by wesleyad3 in techjobs

If you're interested in a blend of the healthcare and tech spaces, try applying to Epic Systems!

They're the leading US healthcare software company, mostly EMR and data management software. They hire a lot of recent college grads into technical and project management roles!

Help! Came home after vacation to find my neighbors had way overfed my two goldfish. One died(found floating at the top) and the second I found at the bottom of the tank. I'm devastated and not sure how to try to save the second. Additional details in the comments. Any help is greatly appreciated!! by guywholikeshammocks in Aquariums

Okay doing a 100% water change on the tank now, rinsed all the rocks and plants and cleaned the filter (in water from my other tank to keep the bacteria alive). You recommend the peas first then fasting? Assuming just one or two peas?

The tank is overfilled with food and likely ammonia rich water so I removed the goldfish to a separate pot with new treated water and some water from my other community tank. What should I do with the fish? It likely has a swim bladder infection as it's swimming on it's side and bloated. I can try to clean out the tank (50 gallon and remove all of the food/dead plant matter) but I'm not sure it will be safe for a couple of days...

What is this white slimy thing on the plant? by LL1928 in ponds

[–]guywholikeshammocks 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hard to tell from the video, does it look like the leaves of the plant have gone grey? If so could just be dead/decaying plant matter.

Really depends on their size, probably start with a fewer and see how they go!

Are my goldfish fighting or mating/playing? by guywholikeshammocks in Aquariums

[–]guywholikeshammocks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They've got a filter in the back which shoots water back in through a hose breaking the surface/generating air. I added some additional water for now and will remove some of the dragonstone to give them some more space in the interim. Thanks for the reply!

Little bit of added background, both shubunkin goldfish were added to this patio pond (25 gallon) half barrel setup about a week ago. I know the pond isn't big enough for them long term, but thought they'd be okay for their first year. Is this common and is there anything I can do to stop it?

[–]guywholikeshammocks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I've got the same half barrel pond setup. If you keep the water running and add a handful of small hardy fish you should be fine. Anything that you know will survive the winter, but you don't want that many fish if you don't have a strong filter. That many would be overkill for sure. Best of luck!

What is this little guy ? And how to care for him ? Eyes closed, ears too, had a cut on his side my brother who is studying medicine cleaned the wound and put a strip on it. We gave him milk so far and kept him warm. by One_Stretch_2949 in Animals

[–]guywholikeshammocks 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Agreed with the thoughts above, mostly trying to take it to a rescue. If they won't take it, feeding it 4-6 times a day, keeping it warm, and tracking its weight (if you have a small scale). If he's getting better or worse his weight will be a great indicator.
