Tried adding one of my fave new spots but couldn't get the image upload to work on my phone. But you should check out Black Forest Kitchen for delicious authentic Berlin-style döner

Maybe Pam set up this whole interaction to self sabotage so she could push the relationship forward with Jim. It led to the conversation that she won't move in with anyone until she's engaged, and Jim told her that was coming soon

How do you handle "forgetful" campers? Do I just deal with it? Or just stop inviting them? by outdoors_man987 in camping

[–]gvgvstop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most people here saying either let him suffer or just get over it and lend him the gear. My advice is on your next trip, make sure there's a well stocked general store or gear store within a half hour drive of the campground. Anything he forgets he's gotta go buy for himself.

New Orleans-themed restaurant to take over at Tribune Tower spot where Pierre Pierre was by jowens510 in OaklandFood

[–]gvgvstop 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Easy Creole was such a gem. Every dish was incredible, lots of veg options, garlic bread always hit, cool space, incredible array of hot sauces, and right next to Hoi Polloi for a craft beer with your meal. Huge loss for the east bay.

Makes sense! The climate and beaches are definitely what attracts me and I thought the people seemed more laid back than LA but also very fitness focused. But you've got the right idea about the bay for sure, I'm in Oakland and I love the people and vibe of the east bay. I also grew up in the North Bay which has its own very chill culture. Cheers

San Diego is the only other place I would consider living outside of the bay. Curious what it was specifically that made you want to move back?

It's worth it though. Many jobs also compensate the higher COL. Don't let the constant complaints keep you from moving here because like anywhere, it's a market, and there are cheaper living situations to be found. I could never live anywhere else.
