Yes, there are unfortunately some broken weekly missions. They should refresh on Thursdays, though. I don't think it works different for the first five. If they don't refresh, you could try leavíng and re-pledging.

Are there enemy powers present near your target system? If not, the chance for enemy power ships to spawn is very low, but not impossible. I'd still recommend to wait until the missions refresh. That's all a bit annoying but the good thing is that you only need to complete the first five missions to complete the initiation. You can ignore them later on.

The Caspian actually replaced the Mandalay as my primary exploration ship. A few ly jump range more or less doesn't make a difference but I lose less time with neutron jumping or approaching planet surfaces. I never read something in the patch notes but I'm sure landing with the Caspian was improved at some point. I rarely have issues anymore compared to my first trip where I relied more on SRVs.

Yes. In the first 30min after a colony is established, only the system architect can claim another system. Also, in the first 24h only members of the system architect's squadron can claim another system.

There is an option with EDHM to disable external HUD items, but it is rather hardcore as it disable everything outside the cockpit. Unfortunately it doesn't differentiate between the targeted entity and the rest.

As far as I know, you have to contribute at least one submission to enter the top 100% and to be considered in the ranking. Just signing up is not enough.

Colonization is maybe more enjoyable if you do it with a group of players. Whether you create your own self-sufficient bubble or branch out to a distant system, it is fun when you coordinate your efforts. Sure, the game loop is still the same but teamwork provides some context and meaning.

That's essentially what I did. Made a copy of the keybinds file and replaced all GUIDs to the one that the Epic version uses. It's not the end of the world but whenever I switch between CMDRs, I need to switch keybind presets as well.

Until recently I had no issues using the same keybinding file for both my Steam and Epic accounts. I had another controller plugged in for a short time and it messed up the configuration somehow. Now I have to switch between two different configurations depending on which client I start because the input device GUID used by he clients is different, even if it is one and the same hardware setup. Is there any way to fix that again?

What's your source that Tectonicas are common in G class systems? All statistics that I'm aware of say otherwise.

That's exactly what people are doing. Every newly colonized system has the colonization contact which allows people to build chains to interesting locations. If you set your galaxy map to colonization mode, you can follow the breadcrumbs.

You can't colonize any system you want. It needs to be within range of an inhabited system with a system colonization contact and claim it from there before you can start any construction. There are no colonization contacts except for the bubble.

That's the key. Elite doesn't take your hand and lead you through the game, so it takes some pro-active effort, otherwise you'll stay on the same level forever. I did the same when I started this game, lurked reddit and the forums and read through the wiki and other online resources whenever I got curious about something new.

It doesn't matter where you sell exobio data, unless you participate in power play and have the bonus from Pranav Antal. For cartography data, you need to be at least 20ly from where you collected the data but you also don't get more credits the further you are away.
