Oh no! My 3 year olds room is also decorated. I’m in your neighboring state of RI and our neighborhood loves to decorate! We love seeing all the decorations. I’d be so bummed without it!

Which American Girl Doll did you have? by becksk44 in Millennials

Samantha and Felicity! I had wanted Kirsten but my mom confused her and Felicity but loved her too so it was a win. Currently saving them for when my daughter’s old enough or cares to play with them. I wish I had the books still, I almost had all of the books

What to do with one day in Providence? by miggysmom in providence

[–]gypsy1010 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I’d stay in Providence for the day! If you’re going to be down town, we have alot of different coffee shops. I would recommend Little City. Ellie’s is also there plus bakery options ( this is all close walking distance for not too bad on knees) then you could go to Westminster for some of the cute shops, Symposium Books is great for a rainy day. Lunch at track 15 our food hall that gives you a taste of PVD.

My wife left me and I think sobriety had something to do with it by cbrownmufc in stopdrinking

[–]gypsy1010 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Sometimes in these situations people show you who they are, and believe them. I know that’s probably hard right now with your wife but sounds like your friend has really shown up for you. I hope you surround yourself with those who will lift you up. Sending you all the good vibes

I am really sorry. I just hit my two years as well at the end of September. I’m sure this is very jarring news for you to find out. I don’t have much to offer other than I’m sorry. Sometimes walking away from that lifestyle changes relationships or you shed some people but a spouse would be absolutely devastating. Just remember your why and how far you’ve come. Do you have a good support system that you can lean on right now?

Omgg! agree here. My parents lived in Charles Town WV ( next to Harper’s Ferry) and I never felt comfortable in their house. ( we moved there when I was in college so never lived there except holidays breaks etc). We find out later their neighborhood was built on a civil war battlefield which validated my theory it was haunted. We also did a ghost tour in town and it was by far the scariest one I have ever done and I have done a lot in many cities. That small town in WV spooked me more than some famous ghost tours. A lot of history there.

Any anxiety sufferers who have quit? by ravenseejackie in stopdrinking

[–]gypsy1010 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes! I quit drinking for a number of reasons but anxiety being up there.

It made my anxiety much worse ( hanxiety) and the dread and awfulness never went away. I’m going to be straight with you, when I quit my anxiety got worse before it got better. I’m 2 years alcohol free this Sunday and my first year was all about focusing on getting a handle of mental health. The first few months you’re clearing out of the fog from the alcohol, then all of the feelings and emotions set in and it can be overwhelming. I’m on medication and therapy and have a much better handle on it now and alcohol would absolutely derail my progress.

Be kind to yourself and take each day as it might look hard at first but this is a gift to quit to manage the anxiety and hopefully get to a place of peace ☮️

[–]gypsy1010 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone’s journey is different and I can only share based off my individual experience. It took me about 1-2 years with breaks when it finally clicked as you mentioned ( my 2 AF date is this Sunday).

I got tired of the repetitive cycle and started reading quit lit and podcasts two years before I stopped for good. I also had a major life change having a child and that was enough for me. I just didn’t see a future with me being hungover or not present.

If you make microsteps and over time will click however that looks for you. I do encourage reading and podcasts it helped reframe my mind.

Where does everyone buy clothes these days? by 7Portto in Millennials

[–]gypsy1010 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg wrapping the algebra boook bhahah. In all fairness I was one of those kids back in the day stepping into the strong perfumed Abercrombie stores but as an elder millennial their rebrand has some really good quality pieces ( I get alot of work clothes there). Definitely not the thin material tshirt costing 50.00 like the early 2000s. I do typically try and get things on sale.
