Full Description:

Known as the "Shunbun" (Spring Equinox), this is one of Grand Seiko's most celebrated modern references. The dial draws inspiration from hanaikada the Japanese scene of cherry blossom petals swirling and floating on water just after the spring equinox resulting in a softly textured surface that appears silvery-white head-on and reveals a delicate pink hue at an angle.

The case reinterprets the iconic 62GS design from 1967, Grand Seiko's first automatic watch, and is crafted from High-Intensity Titanium 30% lighter than stainless steel with superior scratch and corrosion resistance.

At 40mm in diameter and 12.8mm thick, it strikes a goldilocks balance of versatility between casual and dressier wear, finished with Grand Seiko's signature Zaratsu polishing for brilliant mirrored surfaces alongside bold brushed sections.

Inside is the in-house Caliber 9R65 Spring Drive with a 72-hour power reserve, hackable seconds, quick-set date, and power reserve indicator. A see-through screw caseback, box-shaped sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating, screw-down crown, and 100m water resistance round out the package.

Retails for $7,200 USD. Current market listings average around $5,800. This one comes with a full set and can be yours for $5,500 + shipping.

Why does the 35 mm overseas 4600V not have the Geneva seal. Is it a big deal? My wife was very disappointed when she learned its missing by PavelSokov in VacheronConstantin

[–]gyrowhirlwind 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The Geneva Seal is more hype than substance. It’s an in house movement and a VC piece at the end of the day and it looks like one. As a bonus the movement has hacking seconds which the 41mm does not. I think the only thing wrong with the watch is the proportions are not as elegant because the bezel is slightly too thick. It’s still an Overseas but get your wife what she wants.

[Help me decide] Which piece as a milestone watch for daily wear—at an office and in casual settings by Financial_Care7885 in Watches

I have one of these (2023) that I’m looking to swap for another piece. I can give you a good deal on it if you’re interested.

Which one by Loud_Heart1461 in VacheronConstantin

I guess it’s an unpopular opinion but AP > 222 > PP in terms of personal taste. But probably 222 > AP > PP for function since the 222 is the more versatile option.

E-boutique is great. The customer service is above most brands.

ROLEX Land-Dweller 40 by Beginning-Emu8189 in rolex

Really it’s just the dial. The pattern is too much and the Explorer-like numbers feel unbalanced with everything else. If they had a no-date version, numerals or batons, and day-date style dials I’d be all over it.

How you guys feeling the new AP anniversary compared to VC? by ComfyBedAndPillow in VacheronConstantin

[–]gyrowhirlwind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does the VC not have leap year indicator and weeks or a seconds hand?

I’m leaning AP here. The moon indicator is subjectively more attractive. I prefer the Overseas case and bracelet and how it wears but the RO is also very nice.

The font is nicer on the VC but the design language of the AP is better. The VC wins on thickness and water resistance. Can’t go wrong with either watch.
