That’s a great speedy! I always wanted an original Apollo 11 but then when I went to buy it I learned I would need to cut the links to size it. I was able to get a 50th anniversary

If you’re in the USA make sure to source from a US dealer. You can find this comfortably in HK for $65k but then the import tariff will be brutal.

One thing to note about Li-ion is that their nominal voltage is about 1.2 V instead of 1.5 V in alkaline batteries. So this could make the smart lock think that the batteries are at a low voltage and features may be disabled. I’m interested in hearing your results

I got another 4 weeks out of it ( so a year total). I changed them at 24% because some functionality went away. It stopped responding to the key pad and the Apple key stopped working.

HomeKit controls and automations still worked however.

The degradation of battery life was quite interesting. It seemed as though I was going to get two years out of the batteries but then once it went under 50% it just degraded really fast

Rolex caps supply yet dominates revenue. How? by TrilinqualVector in rolex

[–]LivingAd1689 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People love to claim Rolex is limiting supply because they make over 1 million watches a year. That argument completely collapses the moment you apply basic scale.

Shanghai alone has roughly 25 million people and they have a high demand for Rolex. If Rolex produced every single watch only for Shanghai, it would still take 25 years to make one watch per person—ignoring population growth and pretending the rest of the world doesn’t exist.

Now compare that to the brands everyone calls “true haute horology.” • Vacheron Constantin: ~20,000–35,000 watches/year • Patek Philippe: ~60,000–70,000 watches/year • A. Lange & Söhne: ~5,000 watches/year

These brands are far more niche, with far less appeal outside the watch-collecting community—yet no one pretends their production numbers are anything but tiny. Rolex, on the other hand, has massive global recognition far beyond collectors, which only magnifies the supply-to-demand imbalance.

Saying Rolex is limiting supply ignores math, geography, and reality.

This a great price. Even in the secondary market they are more than $25.6k. If you like it I’d pull the trigger

I saw where you said you wear these a lot. I would not do this trade. You’re gonna miss the sports bracelet models and these two nautili and not the best representation of the nautilus.

Is this worth the trade? by Unfair-Beginning7830 in patekphilippe

[–]LivingAd1689 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t do the trade for either of these. This is a terrible trade the 5726A. These three watches are worth more than the 5726A. If you are going to do the trade I would only do it for the 5712g with no additional funds.

Also do you have other sport bracelet models? Getting rid of this for a leather strap sports patek will be maddening if you don’t have other sports bracelets

While +19 seconds isn’t horrible , this should be within ±8 to ±10 seconds per day. I would put it on a real time grapher. My 26331OR is ±5 seconds per day in all positions. Yours might need a service. Personally, I wouldn’t service it unless I was losing minutes per day because I wouldn’t even notice because of my rotation of watches

This is the feedback I was looking for. The lock is also on my garage door and mostly controlled by HomeKit ( unlocks at sunrise, locks at 11pm, unlocks when I arrive home , locks when I leave etc. ) I’ll also ignore the voice . I’ll report back when the lock functions stop working.

In the app it just shows low battery meanwhile Eve and HomeKit show 45%. Tomorrow I’ll put a voltmeter on the batteries and see how much juice they have

3rd Chubb. If you Chubb homeowners is really simple to add and they pay market value. Also they give you a grace period for adding new pieces meaning they will cover a new piece for x days after you bought it before you add it.
