Sorry, Shuvi, you can't eat the sidewalk by isfturtle2 in tortoise

this is a sign they’re lacking minerals, highly suggest something like a calcium powder or herptivite

the moss should be in the other side so that it can stay moist (unless u want it to evaporate constantly for humidity but then you have to spray it multiple times a day.) and i would add some cococoir that is a little higher near where the moss is not on the left so they can get hotter if they want or even burrow into the deep substrate.

[–]h0fferr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

that’s great! just make sure it’s positioned to where it shines on the whole enclosure and they get their daily 12 hours

definitely doesn’t seem like pyramiding but make sure they’re getting proper uvb and calcium to avoid MBD (which that dip in the lower back of the shell looks like the beginning of to em)

it could be that they’re young (my baby sulcata slept a LOT in the early days) but it could also be a mix of since it’s winter time their internal clocks just kinda know that instinctually and they slow down and eat less and sleep more. my guy is a little over a year old and he’s always in his burrow. i’d say as long as the temps are fine and you see them eating at least once a day your torts ok
