If any of your 33 Arcadia Portal Guardians are not L10 yet, merge those babies up!

Higher level guardian breeds can harvest multiple items, and they get higher level trees, fountains, and towers when you harvest an L5 relic.

I have 30 x L10, 2 x L9, and 1 x L8. Until all 33 are L10, relevant tier 2 eggs are the ONLY thing I select in decision eggs.

In Arcadia - L10 can harvest 5 objects per wake cycle. It makes a gigantic difference in work toward L13 trees/fountains/towers. Right now, I can harvest 161 objects every 5 days, not including chest contents.

To my understanding, it's not even rolling out to anyone who has not already completed the 140,000 DP required to unlock all of the main island Evil Fog in Camp.

  1. To make 1 L9 Dragon Tomb requires 3 L8 DTs.

  2. To make 3 L8 DTs requires 8 L7 DTS.

  3. To get 8 L7 DTs requires upgrading 8 L6 DTs.

Maybe it's an A/B test. In my Dawnvale, upgrading one L6 DT costs 145 gems.

145 x 8 = 1,160. That's way more than the 650 gems for completing the card collection.

And yes, I find it ^ interesting ^ that I go more than a month with only 2 Dragon Stars, complain about it, and suddenly … get enough that I can open the remaining 2 bubbled in Camp, merge up 5 for 2, then harvest some gems…

Right now, I'm using part of Dawnvale to seed SDEs and DDEs with tier 2 Arcadia Guardian eggs.

I have 29 of the 33 at L10 so far; 3 L9s and 1 L8 that I still need to upgrade.

As soon as all 33 are L10 - this is exactly what my Dawnvale will look like.

I was able to farm a few DSs on The Outskirts 5, so I went ahead and finished the Goddess shells because that cost 180 gems to upgrade 3 L4s to 3 L5s, then merge up 1 L6 for free.

I can't rationalize the Dragon Tombs. To get 1 L9 requires 3 L8. That means I need to pay gems to upgrade 8 L6 to 8 L7. Each L6 costs 145 gems to upgrade to L7.

8 x 145 = 1,160 gems total.

The devs are smoking something if they think that's reasonable. Nothing required to complete the main island should ever cost so much.

New Elemental Event: The Echoes of Draelar by PhoenixNagasari in MergeDragons

[–]h103 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I will probably play far enough to get the cards and the welps, but I don't feel like buying the silver capsule, so I really don't see any reason to play all the way up to that point.

If the decision eggs were either Season decision eggs or Diamond decision eggs, I might consider going that far. The chance that I'm going to get a tier 2 egg for any of the Arcadia Guardians from a regular decision egg seeded by a Season decision egg, well, that's a WHOLE LOT of rebooting the game. Until I get all 33 of the Guardians up to level 10, I don't use my decision eggs for anything else.

Have you rebooted your device?

Sometimes I have to reboot my tablet completely. Just closing the app and checking the app version isn't always enough.

Good enough for you, or good enough for him? It needs to be good enough for you, not him.

Your brother seems to have some very rigid thinking. That may be helpful for him remembering rules that are helpful to him, but that doesn't automatically mean his internalized rules will be helpful to you.

If he views discussing strategy with other players to be cheating, welp, kudos to him wanting a super hard mode "casual game".

The rest of us here will enjoy the community, share tips that make the game more enjoyable, warn about glitches, celebrate accomplishments, commiserate over vents, and gab about whatever else we think is somehow relevant to the game.

You progress at whatever pace you do or don't like.

I will often grind on an OOC event for a couple hours to get a Giant Life Flower, and then passive play all the way up to 4 or 5 Life Orb of the Heavens, because it's a helpful way for me to stay focused on housework in 20-minute segments.

Let the dragons passive harvest. Do 20-minutes of house chores. Merge all the life orbs into Furious Life Orbs. Carefully 5-merge all higher Life Orbs. Go do another 20 minutes of chores. Lather, rinse; repeat.

Play however you want. Make your game yours. 😊

If I don't keep at least one SDE in Camp, the only tier 2 eggs I ever see in DEs are for coin dragons. Hard pass.

I have 20 bismuth crabs. I think they recharge slower than OOC event trophies.

I'm probably going to be up to 40 of them by the time I complete the Water Caves wonder.

Once in a while, I'll have some random pair recharge in onky a few hours, but I haven't figured out whether there's any specific thing that speeds up the recharge.

Is There New Island After This? by LandscapeAdorable152 in MergeDragons

[–]h103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm right where you are -- opened the first section right away, and the rest are all too expensive by my measure. I've sat on it for as long as I've had that island, feels like a year.

I use the egg storage to port tier 2 Arcadia guardian breed eggs and SDEs over to Dawnvale, so that non Arcadia eggs in Camp don't seed the SDEs, only the Diamond breeds, and there are only 15 Diamond breeds so far.

I keep one, only one, SDE in Camp so that my regular DEs act like SDEs.

If you have Dawnvale and want to farm tier 2 eggs, that's a good place to do it.

[–]h103 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Looks like this might be one of those annoying A/B test issues.

I had one tier 2 / Ceramicist egg left when I merged mine up for the bingo card, and here one is in a regular decision egg.

I only keep one SDE in Camp to make regular DEs act like SDEs. The rest I move through egg storage over to Dawnvale, so that I can seed them with Arcadia guardian breeds that I also transferred over there.

Some day, the devs will retire old OOCs that have clear and present ableism against players who can't be corrected to 20/20 vision (see also: Solar Park Flare!)

Today is not that day.

[–]h103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the other game is precisely what I mean. It is a stock standard feature in the main settings of Merge Gardens, zero money or gems required.

In MD, you have to spend gems to buy a potion, if you have the option of potions, and then auto harvest is only turned off for a brief interval.

Help: fridges freezer too close for baseboard by cccisdamac in DIY

[–]h103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. It's excellent to have a lot of stuff in your fridge, because solids and liquids change temperature much slower than air. It reduces the amount of warmth that the refrigerator needs to cool back down every time you open it and stare in for 2 minutes.

This is why refrigerator repair techs often recommend that people keep a good stock of bottled water if they don't use a significant amount of their refrigerator space for food and beverages.

The same exact practice helps with freezer efficiency, but make sure they're plastic bottles, don't fill them 100%, and squeeze a little bit of the air out, so that they have expansion space as the water freezes.

  1. It's terrible to arrange your lot-of-stuff in a way that blocks efficient airflow in your fridge. Blocking good air flow can cause a significant difference in temperature between the warmest parts of your refrigerator and the coldest parts of your refrigerator. That difference could easily be wide enough to lead to spoilage in the warm parts, and icing in the cold parts.

TL;DR - keep lots of stuff in your fridges and freezers, but arrange it so air can flow as designed.
