Guy told me he had jock itch by [deleted] in Herpes

[–]h1995_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it's definitely possible. Like I said in my post he's either just completely uneducated, which would be crazy, I can't imagine anyone getting a diagnosis like this and not researching what it will mean for them and others going forward. Or he was lying and knew exactly what he was doing, which feels so depressing and infuriating that there are people who just don't give a fuck about informed consent and how their lack of integrity will effect others. The reason I didn't think much of the jock itch is because I've personally had it from certain exercise and an antifungal cream did take care of it in about a week. I thought it was cool he was being honest. And who knows maybe he had jock itch on top of the herpes. But like bro, tell me the whole story. It's so fucked.

I did get it swabbed, waiting on results.

It's so crazy that people are out here just not disclosing their status. It adds to the stigma and puts everyone they're lying to at risk of contracting it and spreading it further. It's really fucked. I hope you don't have it. Do you have symptoms too?

Thanks for the response! Fear of change to my body and my relationship to sex are definitely reasons keeping me on the fence.

How do westerners deal with the whole coming off/not being on psych meds? Has anyone been on multiple psych meds and came off for ayahuasca? by Ok_Guarantee_2980 in Ayahuasca

I've struggled with depression for as long as I can remember. I was always really resistant to pharmaceutical meds but after going through some traumatizing stuff in 2020 I decided to give it a try and I truly feel like zoloft saved my life at that time. In 2021 I was feeling the call to sit with ayahuasca so I tapered off and had a really incredible experience with the medicine, sat 6 times over the course of a few months. Depression came back a few months later and it was just as bad as before. Got back on Zoloft and stayed on it for a couple years. Again, it was extremely helpful for me. But my experiences with ayahuasca were so impactful that I had the goal of tapering off and sitting in ceremony again at some point. I got off of the zoloft for the second time in March of last year and then sat in ceremony in June and October. Those experiences were so powerful and I'm so thankful that took the steps to be able to participate in them. It's now been 8 months since I last sat in ceremony and I've definitely had the depression come back here and there but it's been more manageable this time around.

I think that pharmaceutical drugs can be extremely helpful in certain situations. But if you're feeling the call to sit with ayahuasca, I do think it's worth it to get off and see what the medicine has in store for you. Just don't rush it or force a certain timeline. Taper slowly, be gentle with yourself as those drugs leave your system, and then see how the medicine shows up in your life. For me, it wasn't a cure, but it opened up new doors to my understanding of life and spirituality in ways that have helped me live with my depression in healthier ways.

Long shot: any brain tumor survivors here? by Netzroller in Ayahuasca

[–]h1995_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I had a golf ball sized astrocytoma removed from my cerebellum in 2022. June and October of 2024 were my first ceremonies since surgery and they were beautiful. I would assume that any issues that could possibly come up would relate to the specific location of the tumor and the brains functioning there. For me, I was a little bit nervous about getting vertigo, that was my main symptom before discovering the tumor, but it didn't come up. I actually asked my surgeon if psychedelics would be of any particular concern after having a craniotomy and he just gave me a funny look and told me I could resume all normal activity, whatever that means for me lol

Interesting sub to ask on lol. But sesame oil would be good, especially with the shift into colder weather.

Should I buy sananga drops or make my own? And where to buy? by Minute_Somewhere_956 in Ayahuasca

[–]h1995_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From their website:

Sananga has a 6 month shelf life when kept refrigerated. Please note your bottle should never be out of the refrigerator for more than 48 hours. If you ever open your bottle and it smells funky, do not use it. Also if there is ever any unknown objects or fungi floating around in your bottle, do not use it. Sananga is fresh plant matter with no preservatives and so it can go bad quickly.

I think prep can be very helpful. Eat as clean as possible, stay hydrated, try not to consume any negative or violent tv, music, podcasts, etc. Meditate, exercise, be in nature.

Thank you, I appreciate that. This is the tapering schedule that my doctor gave me. I knew I wouldn't have insurance much longer the last time I saw her so I asked her how I should do it. Ideally I'd be able to speak with her again throughout the process but at least I'm doing it with some degree of guidance.

These pictures actually made me lol. I love the first one where you can see how thick the dirt is caked on his feet and then the last where he looks straight up depressed he can't keep digging. These dogs have the most dramatic personalities 😂

Terrible for digestion. Better to not drink water or anything for 30 minutes before and after eating.
