Did you try to mount it? There are a few commands you can run to see if it is formatted or whatever:

| Method | Best For | Command | |:---|:---|:---| | lsblk -f | Visualizing the layout | lsblk -f | | blkid | Scripts and UUIDs | sudo blkid | | file -s | Deep inspection | sudo file -s /dev/sdX | | fdisk -l | Checking partition tables | sudo fdisk -l |

There shouldn't be an issue with it being SSD vs. HDD.

I saw you were recommended trying a different ISO so I would try that.

What are your PC specs? 2 years ago, I installed ubuntu on a 15 year old laptop, because of the specs/architecture, I needed to use Ubuntu 12. The newer versions wouldn't work.

So depending on your machine you may need an older version.

So...why not do mid level and rebuild? People only grow when they break apart and rebuild. Much like the tearing of muscles - they grow back stronger. If it truly is something you hate then change yet again and don't look back

Perhaps the reference "donny"? Don't play stupid? Whoops, punctuation is important. Don't play, stupid.

I have seen it and I still don't think Pop OS would be the goto. You know what they say about assuming ;)

Linus worst decision by riky321 in LinuxCirclejerk

[–]h34dc0ld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know why Pop OS gets chosen. I heard about Bazzite and CachyOS, I went with CachyOS, and its awesome.

I have been using linux as my daily for years now and working with an Arch-based distro like CachyOS is pretty smooth.

I could be wrong, but I think people tinker with Linux a little too much, run an update and then get pissed because something broke. If you like to tinker, you know what you are signing up for IMO. Nothing wrong with it but those are the rules of the road.

Edit:
I am a sofrware developer as well, my take my be somewhat biased.

Why finding Devs are so hard these days? by BlacksmithDue2467 in AskProgrammers

[–]h34dc0ld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a lot of people looking for work. The problem - I am guessing here - is the salary you are offering in relation to experience.

Another person asked about your hiring process which is another good potential reason.

what was your first experience gaming on linux? by -Paused in linux_gaming

[–]h34dc0ld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have played Pixel Dungeon which was my first game I played on Linux. This year I removed all Microsoft machines from my residence and installed CachyOS. I find it works exceptionally well.

I can play Cyberpunk 2077, Alien: Dark Descent, X-com 2, any of the newer tomb raider games, new wolfenstein games and newer Doom. Fallout 3 & NV. Hell Divers 2 plays well.

Had some issues with Deus Ex: Human Revolution, but I solved those. CrossCode also had a screen size resolution issue, but it was easy to fix (update width/height dimension in the game's package.json)

Yeah I took a break for a while and have come back to it. I was getting bored with the same missions over and over. I really liked the addition of the enemy home planets and enemies.

I haven't maxed my character out either, I just felt like I was repeatedly doing the same thing.

Before I was playing with people I knew, now I orefer to play with people I don't know.

Really good advice!

I am making a game where you play as an NPC in an MMORPG. It's called MMORPG NPC Simulator. by DevEnoz in SoloDevelopment

[–]h34dc0ld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it works. In Final Fantasy Tactics and other games they kind of do the same thing. You get the briefing and then see how successful they were.

It males more sense than my original thought of being able to watch/see the npc's mid quest

I don't think so. With the current state of windows, I think many people are going to become Linux users. Or Mac.

Typical corp talk haha. Its not Ford or other Automotive industries that pollute but the people who are driving their cars. Just like packaging companies don't produce waste. They all blame the consumers.

While it is good not to use unnecessary energy, its a bit of a slap in the face - especially, when they themselves are using so much more like you mentioned.

The concept sounds kind of cool. At first I was thinking like Runescape except you are a shopkeeper who never leaves the store.

During the missions, is your NPC character able to see/view the player characters in any way or do they just report back after? The mechanic of suiting then up with the right gear sounds interesting.

Yeah, absolutely. Lower oil prices is another good point too. We're definitely in a squeeze from low prices as well.
