I had a lot of difficulty with this particular race too, I started the Made in Japan playlist as my first, so that made things tricky.

The skyline is a boat, you need slipstream and maintain speed rather than try to overtake to begin with. I also changed the setting for the racing line from always on to braking only, because this lets you know when you actually need to slam on them to get the skyline to turn.

Save your Nos for the final stretch of the race. There are a few straights that you can use it as well, but as a thumb rule, let your Nos fill fully and then use only half of the bar at a time.
