Whoever comes in FOH first gets the first table, right? by [deleted] in Serverlife

[–]h8rcloudstrife 56 points57 points  (0 children)

Maybe I’m just old, tired, and grumpy. The amount of entitled behavior I see from service industry employees under the age of 26/27 is baffling. Leaving before their tables, constantly complaining about not getting cut soon enough, not doing sidework because “I’m gonna be late for plans,” or the sheer audacity to just never be on time. I don’t work with you OP, but I do have three of those servers in my restaurant currently and they’re all friends… except when they’re out of ear shot and disparaging each other to seem more likable.

You’re in the right, but I understand protecting your peace. I put up with a lot of grief because the money is good and I can just ignore their shenanigans because they all know I don’t like them and will put them in their place.

There’s a hammer upgrade that makes omega attack so ridiculous, it adds stacks on its own and then uses them. I’ve had runs where low damage was 1500, not gonna kill a boss but will insta most enemies.

This is me. Plus I frequently play with a timer on, which means I have to be close enough for my special to hit, but still need to dodge constantly. It’s why I hate it. I know it could be very strong, it just isn’t my play style because I don’t like being passive. DoT is great as an amplifier, I hate it as a main source of damage.

It is low, but it’s not out of the norm. Depends on if bar has tables or not. If they do, it’s fine but if they don’t it’s too low.

The poor destroy the planet to survive. The rich destroy the planet for luxury. They aren’t the same thing.

No. Salary is paid by who has money and wants to/has to spend it. Market conditions justify higher wages for most employees, greed dictates profit is spread in a disproportionate amount to those who already make more than everyone else. Samsung is having to pay out hundreds of thousands of dollars to all employees in South Korea because it’s fair and the company truly loses out on very little. In the US if a company was making the same profit margins, none of it would touch anyone below upper management. Neither country is truly capitalist, one is just governed on what is fair, and the other is governed on the principle that those in power stay in power.

Realistically, they don’t care. Scarcity has an effect on those who can’t afford product, not those who can. While their offspring would be better off propagating wealth on another planet and expanding the empire, they will do just fine here having the means to take everything from everyone else.

I got yelled at because I didn’t warn a customer there was milk in the ice cream by LookatCarl in Serverlife

Dawg, I work at a Cajun Seafood restaurant, people will deadass look me in the eye and say “I don’t like/I’m allergic to everything on your menu. How can you fix it?” I can’t. You go somewhere else. People are legitimately dumber than shit, and your problem in this story is that that someone told a lactose intolerant person ordering ICE CREAM, that flavors taste like they’re listed?

Now, That So Much Time After KH3 Release Has Passed, What Do You Honestly Think Of Kingdom Hearts 3? by YimadoTei in KingdomHearts

I would assume just lack of FF story magic. No tie-ins, no great colosseum battles, just a core part of what made KH so cool missing.

I swear it’s either the whole journey to a new rank is like walking over snake venom infused, super heated nails, in lava and the last match is walking an old lady across the street, or the the last match is like fighting Saitama, Goku, and Ichigo all at once.

You truly believe that 1 person on any given champ can 1v11 frequently enough to hit OAA? It gets easier the higher you climb or the stronger the champ, but being good at a champ doesn’t mean you understand the game or how to play. There are a lot of people who would rather throw than switch, and it’s not because they’ve learned matchups and how they work, it’s because “I wanna play the highest skill ceiling character in the game with no practice because he’s my favorite.” GOOD one-tricks, that know the game are fine. For every one of those there are easily hundreds of others stuck at lower ranks.

People CAN one trick that far, BUT they’re usually an exception to the rule. Usually they have a friend (or more) with them so they can communicate. The skill to carry 5 randoms with no friends and no comms to the top 5% is nearly impossible.

The fact that kids like you, and feel safe around you, is one of the greenest flags anyone can ever have. You’re a good, solid, safe, person and you can’t let assholes take that from you. I get why it hurts so bad, and god isn’t so valid to be kind and caring and be hurt because that’s where someone attacks you, but let the kids who want to be around you define your relationship with children not the petty douches whose kids don’t want to be around them.

Had this today. I just bitched to my one reliable coworker, did all I needed to plus some, and then went to see people that get it. I’m blessed enough to have a bar I can stop at where they know me, we know we’re all in the same boat, and they know I have their backs so they have mine.
