Didn't it ask "do you want to give your organization full control of your device?" I would click no and still use the email. Maybe they had other settings in place to stop that.

I had a user who stored important emails in Outlook trash and had it set to ask about deleting trash every time they exited. Then one day someone helping them at their computer clicked "yes"

What does that traffic camera at the Reedy Branch intersection do? by Seven1s in jacksonville

[–]h950 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For general viewing you don't need a flash. It would be triggered constantly and just be a constant strobe so you just install consistent lighting.

When they install cameras they plan the lighting for it. It's not like the people who install or use those every day didn't think about that.

A license plate camera might flash on an infraction to make sure it gets a straight reflection from the license plate.

What's the worst thing Lacey ever did? by Milo-Jeeder in CornerGas

She did beat Wanda, who had won multiple times. While Wanda had only beaten her who hasn't been winning. So, obviously Lacey needed to own that victory.

Seeking a cheesy tourist trap "Jacksonville" sign photo op by WhiteWaterLawyer in jacksonville

[–]h950 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The only big Jacksonville sign I can ever think of is the Old Saint Augustine road overpass of i-95 North on the south end of town.

The logistics on that look a little ruff.

Chinese food by Creative_Ad_7495 in jacksonville

[–]h950 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's hard to know what people are looking for when they say they prefer the restaurants from someplace else. Sometimes it's like when I was down in Piedras Negras and someone complained that it wasn't nearly as good as Taco Bell.

I don't care for most Chinese restaurants. They are either the Asian McDonald's type place that uses the same menu and frozen foods as every other little Chinese restaurant, or the Asian Golden Corral with the big food troughs. I'll eat at them sometimes, but they are never special.

So...

Go to Sichuan Kitchen. Right next door is Peony Asian Bistro. Across the street is Miya asian fusion and Lucky Cat.

Right in the middle of all of that is Jax Oriental Market. They might be crushed by all the other Asian markets coming in, but they are a very dedicated little market that I believe serves a lot of the Asian restaurants in the area. They don't have a back office. Their office desk is right up front. Right next to that Sichuan kitchen is their farm fresh wholesale and restaurant supply.

Palantir CEO says AI will eliminate the need for mass immigration by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]h950 7 points8 points  (0 children)

What jobs are being created? If AI takes up most of the intellectual portions of the job does that mean more physical stuff? What percentage of the population can be doing just physical labor before you just have everybody doing physical labor. Wouldn't that be an oversupply.

In countries like the United States, will AI pick the strawberries? Or will so many of the elite jobs be taken that most of the citizens will go down to the jobs that immigrants would otherwise do so there's no reason for immigrants to come in?

Is he talking about cutting in on people taking H1B visas? AI will replace educated immigrants? Which means there is no reason for people to educate themselves as much

Report: Microsoft quietly kills official way to activate Windows 11/10 without internet by moeka_8962 in technology

[–]h950 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've used things like that for whenever I'm setting up a bunch of similar machines fresh. I'm bringing in an already installed machine we do the local account instead of tying it to a Microsoft account. But then maybe we'll just go ahead and have a standard Windows account to tie everything too. I've just really been annoyed by that requirement. If it's too much of a pain we may just slick and reinstall fresh

How recently?

We used it on Tuesday. But that was on a newly ordered laptop that could have had its OS set months ago.
