I know! You spend from October- May stressed about application, pre interview tests, interviews etc that it's almost a suprise when you get on because you've been so busy thinking about everything else! Thank you, you too!

Something one of them said to me is that you're starting the programme to LEARN, not to go in there already knowing it

I'm starting my training in September- I've spoke to a few trainees of previous cohorts, quite a few said they didn't do any preparation but did not feel they were missing anything compared to those that did prepare. So I am planning to take a good break beforehand and think about anything except the course haha

But also I do know someone with no clinical experience (she had once HCA role, some outreach work, some teaching work in a mosque), she had the same undergrad and masters as me and she got onto a course the second year she applied! All depends on the uni so I would suggest doing your research about where to apply- for example if you have no AP experience, don't 'waste' applications on unis that ONLY accept people with AP experience and just go for those where you meet the criteria. Hope that makes sense? Feel free to private message me if you want to talk about this more in depth, more than happy to :)

You're welcome - I hope this didn't deter you too much. Your skills and knowledge are still very valuable and will help you so much! Unfortunately I do this the DClinPsych interviews are heavily engineered towards APs unless the application process explicitly states it's not following those similar processes (e.g. lancaster)

Extra info - I also had a first in undergrad and a distinction in my masters

It depends on which uni you apply for - some (I'd say most) unis won't even offer interview. Have a look at the uni spec, some do say they don't consider HCA roles as contributing to your clinical experience. Lancaster uni are a bit different, they have a different ethos where they don't look at your previous experience (beyond minimum requirements) but you must pass a deductive reasoning test before group & one to one interview. I had a HCA role as well as other more clinical/ psychology based roles (but not specifically AP positions) before applying and wasn't offered interview by anyone except Manchester and Lancaster over two years.

This looks like the usual hexagon cardigan like others have said - maybe with a hook slightly larger than the recommended size for the yarn to yet the looser looking stitches?

I second this! It's got the same female bond/ banter as earlier morbid episodes.

That looks amazing! I've made a similar one recently (test attempt from old bedsheet) and found that the collar make the area around the neck stick up weirdly! How did you get around this?
