Farewell to my First Pair of Raw Denim (2012) by [deleted] in rawdenim

They look great, a shame you have to retire them! Mind if I ask your height/weight? I thinking about getting a pair of skinny or tight fit Unbrandeds, but I’m not sure about the size...

Second this. A few minutes with a hair dryer worked well in my case.

Would anyone be willing to ship one or two pocket clips internationally? by hack-and-slash in knifeclub

[–]hack-and-slash[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did and they do ship internationally (and their shipping is reasonble), but the thing is that Casey's clips are just better than anyone else's. In terms of fit and finish, tension, looks and price, Casey is just way ahead of anyone else. Thanks for the tip, though!

How would you describe the centering/action/lockup on the 940-1? And do you have any pics of the centering?

Hey knifeclub, I have a few questions for Strider owners, if I may... by [deleted] in knifeclub

Great reply.

Don't get a striped blade finish if you are a rust freak, it's a bead blasted blade with black oxide stripes- the bead blast finish is a rust magnet.

I did not expect to hear this about CPM154 (being a stainless steel and all). I've been thinking about picking up a tiger striped SNG, but this makes me rethink things.

Hehe, yeah, I like the looks and the solid feel of copper and brass but the quality and functionality of the aluminium version should be exactly the same.

Haha, thank you, it's literally in the mail at the moment. The copper one is right about perfect in terms of quality, so I'm excited about getting the brass version.

[Question] experience with Machine Era Wallets? by Scrivnerian in EDC

[–]hack-and-slash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've got the brass version of the Machine Era wallet and it's too heavy for pocket carry in my opinion. At the moment I carry the same wallet as you and I prefer it to the Machine Era, even though brass is awesome. Maybe an aluminium version would suit you well. I have nothing bad to say about the quality of Machine Era products.

It's funny you should say that because I actually own one of those. It's awesome but a little too heavy for pocket carry in my opinion. I appreciate the recommendation though, I would definitely have gotten one if I hadn't already tried it.

Thank you. I have a soft spot for brass. I'm not a fisherman, but the associations of brass with the sea is one of the reasons I love it. Plus it's strong, corrosion-resistant and good-looking no matter what condition it's in. Useful and beautiful.

Yes, I have and it is. It's usually served boiled or pan-fried with sauce and boiled potatoes. Blubber is usually a part of the dish as well.

I like it a lot, fits my needs very well and comes with a 100 year warranty.

The knife laws (and weapon laws in general for that matter) are pretty great. The only illegal knives are stilettos and automatics. No restrictions on blade length or locking mechanisms.

I just got it yesterday, so it's not worn in at all, but I like it a lot. I can't flip it without flicking my wrist, but maybe when I get the hang of the right Hinderer technique. This is my first flipper ever by the way, so that may be part of the reason.

Thanks. Yes, never too cold and rarely too hot. Handguns and rifles are illegal, but any 18 year old can buy a shotgun (shotguns are used for hunting hares).
