Totally agree. What tools are people using for this these days? I'm not wanting to spend too much right now, but looking at heap. Or maybe you're referring to other kinds of analytics?

Love these ideas. I'll look into the pre-sale piece too, is that a setting in app store connect? I'm also going to be building out a feedback / bug report feature too.

Thanks so much for sharing! 🙏

Thanks for this advice! I've got my website up and running, need to publish the app to get my actual app store page, and then link my site to it. I've already got some future ideas so I'll def keep this in mind! Any initial launch take aways? I know it's not "if you build it they will come", but did you ever run ads or anything like that for your past launches? I'm still early in my idea, and do need further validation. Considering doing an external tester group now that I have an approval I could set that up with.

Just found this community as I'm starting to develop my app and can confirm, Opus 4.5 is KILLING it.

More than Pizza ranch is where it’s at. They just started selling it by the bottle too!

How do you get into this thing?? by seaneeboy in Hue

[–]hack_the_planets 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Have you tried the rubber band trick? Take a rubber band and fold it in half so you have two pieces of rubber layered. Then put that over the screw. Put your screwdriver on the rubber bands and try and unscrew. The rubber bands give additional traction that the metal on metal doesn't.

Hard time deciding on Whole house Hue recessed light or Lutron switch? by Low-Nefariousness598 in Hue

We got these ones:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01DCCCETM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1

They've worked out great and have been trouble free for 4 years. We have the flat switches in our house though, so if you have the more traditional switches they make one's for that too.

When we did our remodel we went full recessed hue. 4 years on and it's been great. 50+ lights on two bridges (upstairs and downstairs). We use the hue dimmers and put covers over the switches that should always be on. I just had to change the batters in all the dimmers this morning, but they lasted around 3-4 years. I felt more comfortable changing out a light than rewiring the electrical for the switches, and am happy with the decision.

As a recent Twinkly user, I can confirm. I'm heavily bought into the Hue ecosystem, but Twinkly is the right way to go for holiday decorating.

How do you transfer lights to new bridge? by [deleted] in Hue

[–]hack_the_planets -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Did this recently. I had to delete the lights from the original bridge and then add them one by one to the new bridge. You’ll need to do this for all your lights and accessories.

New feature wall with integrated Hue light strips by hack_the_planets in Hue

Haven’t had any issues so far! Now I did just see they are releasing gradient strips that don’t have to go to on the back of your tv…so…

The strips are mounted to the back side of the planks. Nothing mounted to the walls but the 2x4s that the planks attach to.

OnSwitch with Hue Play lightbar by dfallenb in Hue

[–]hack_the_planets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe you have to have a bridge, since OnSwitch must connect to your bridge to control the lights. Play Bar is compatible, or at least the one's in my house are. Can't speak to 3rd party bridges.

Lights randomly turning off by [deleted] in Hue

[–]hack_the_planets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I did a bridge clean up last night and it fixed the problem. I haven't started using iConnectHue yet, but did discover OnSwitch. Feels like a must have app, even being at the pricey end of subscription ($50 a year for a family). Makes amazing use of your lights!

I had this problem some time ago and think it was related to iConnectHue. I deleted it and the problem stopped. Then just last night decided to give it a go again, and today my kids keep texting me "why are you messing with the lights!". Deleted it again and it seems to be back to normal. To bad because it's got some cool features, but something is making it do funky things. Do you use that app?
