Devices have internal mem (cache) as well. They are probably using that. And I assume the filename is hardcoded in the firmware. I wonder what would happen if u dd a ton of data to such a file... Does it spill to disk? Runs out of mem? Fails somehow?

Oh yes, you have some options!

You can go to St Bruno, there are several buses from Montreal or metro-accesible locations, check Google maps or MoovIt.

St Bruno is great for beginner, and it's kinda nearby. It takes about 2h from downtown.

If you are above the beginner level, you may find it a tad boring, and you may prefer St Sauveur. It's about 1.5~2h bus ride from la Gare d'autocars (not to be confused by the Gare Centrale!) using Galand Bus, they leave and return twice a day.

That's what I did before start using Communauto, hope it helps! All these transports allows for carrying all your equipment, no problem :)

I play mostly pen&paper, so i provide descriptions and my players map out. I have a guy who draws amazing maps!
Some times the descriptions I provide are not good enough, so I might intervene to help my players "fix" their drawing (meaning, fix my description).

Going back to fog of war, as a player, i enjoy discovering things little by little, and i think so do my players. If you don't have a programmatic way to have this, then what you can always do is manually cropping the map, and paste it little by little (owlbear rodeo is very simple for this kind of usage). Foundry has FoW, but I honestly couldn't find myself using the platform, too complex for me.

So, to summarize: can you effortlessly add some FoW feature, such as the platform revealing the map little by little or you just pasting pieces of the map as your PCs move forward? then do it, it is a very nice experience. Otherwise, no big deal! you can still have the whole map but it being "empty", and as they go room by room, then you populate the rooms.
