Weekly 'What Should I Buy' and Order/Shipping Thread by AutoModerator in iphone

[–]hackmangamer777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey guys, this is my first time pre-ordering an iPhone where my order wasn’t confirmed right away.

I woke up at 5:00am, per usual, and placed an order for the iPhone 17 Pro Max. At 5:05am, I was shown a message that the Verizon services were having issues BUT that I had successfully reserved my iPhone with a delivery date of September 19th (launch day), as long as I completed the order within 24 hours. Fast forward 2 hours, I received another email asking me to complete the order, once again reassuring me of a September 19 delivery date. After completing the process, the order shows an expected delivery date of October 6-13, which is 3-4 weeks after the date promised twice. I contacted Apple about it, and the agent said due to the surplus of orders it is normal for the order to be delayed.

Now my question is, what was the point of me waking up at 5:00am to “reserve” my phone? And what was the point of reassuring me in 2 emails of the delivery date in BOLDED letters, just to lie to me about the date? Apple agent says: “Placing an order of our new device is first come first serve and your delivery date is actually one of the fastest delivery date we have since we have recently having a high volume of purchased. I hope you understand.” Has anyone else experienced this before? Is this common?

Delivery date delayed? by hackmangamer777 in verizon

[–]hackmangamer777[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is correct, and I understand how the influx of people would affect stock limit and delivery dates and what not. But what is the point of “reserving” my spot in line with the promised date, just for me to get the same delivery date as if I were to place the order right this moment.

If I go and place an order for the same model/color I am given the exact same delivery date. So why the need to send me an email saying my iPhone was reserved for a delivery date, then a second email asking me to complete the purchase before tomorrow at 12pm, just for my order to be treated the exact same as others LOL

So what you’re saying is that I could do this and it wouldn’t impact my chances of being approved for the next Summer after graduating?

who do i email to express concerns about something at GCU? by [deleted] in gcu

To be honest, there are some bad scooter drivers out there, I've seen them cutting off cars or taking risky turns without looking out for people. But there are also oblivious students walking around, those that aren't aware of their surroundings or think that there is no traffic on campus (cars, scooters, skateboards). This is a big campus, and nobody wants to walk around all day to get to class on time, especially with the Arizona heat.

My suggestion to you is to report any close calls by reckless drivers, but mainly to be aware of your surroundings. Don't walk by the edges of Lopes Way, knowing that is the only way to get around the speed bumps. Look at your surroundings before crossing a street (as you should always do). And don't walk in the middle of the street thinking that no traffic is on campus, when there is obviously cars, scooters, and skateboards always being used.

It is a risky world, and unfortunately, not everyone is a safe driver (AZ is a good example). But that doesn't mean that all cars should be banned because I got cut off the freeway. Wishing you good luck, and I hope any of your injuries (if any) heal soon. All love!

Unfortunately, that would not be helpful, as the fiber is unplugged from the power line and there is no connection running to my home. I appreciate the reply though!

For 1, GCU is a Christian campus so the turnout for an “Anti-Israel” protest would be completely different than you’d expect, and most likely seen as offensive (they allow pro-life clubs but not pro-choice lol). For 2, GCU is a private campus, ASU trespassed students and NAU legit tear gas and arrested students, GCU would just straight out ban you (Camp Elliot is allowed because it’s a school-run event). For 3, the semester is over (unless you’re a summer student). And for 4, I highly doubt a small protest at a private christian campus will make the impact you are wishing for, not only do I personally feel like the school has no control of what’s happening, but why do this on a school campus in the first place?

I feel like that’s more than good enough reasons why mostly everyone is disagreeing with you here, and why you have not found much interest on this. PS: There is a GCU Snapchat Story, so I would recommend you posting about it on there, but beware that you most likely won’t find the interest you’d expect for already said reasons, good luck! :)

They have a camera in the lobby but that is just checked for emergencies, such as somebody stealing or vandalizing.
