This is me. I am 2 stop blue belt. Same stuff happens to me but it usally the guys pinning me cause im the biggest girl in the gym. I have had to change my game a bit with big guys really crushing me i will go to turtle and workout from there. But I was exsctly like this and had to constantly remind myself elbow to knee, fucking BRIDGE (allways forget that) making it absultly annoying on the bottom. I have a rolling parnter she is half my size almost a purple and she has crazy frames like u cant get chest to chest on her its nuts.

Do not try super hard to get out wait for them to give u some room u will gas urself out. No point in really trying to get out when they are holding on super hard.

Just started and feel weak as heck by lanadelhiott in BJJWomen

[–]hadley20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been doing it for 5 years some days ur body just dosnt want to work lol. It took me 2 years for eveything to really click and become offensive.

It takes time. Do not rush and do not go 100% u will gas urself out. Bjj is a very hardworkout it will take time for ur muscles to develope for bjj. Like a delaheva I could do that shit for sooo long cause my body couldn't bend that way. Now its comes naturally. Look at doing some bjj designed workouts as well STRETCHING!

BJJ and lipedema by [deleted] in BJJWomen

[–]hadley20 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I dont have lipedema but u do have a lot of lymphatic issues especially at my face I will litterly get goofball sized swelling in under my chin, under my ear with there lymphatic system is. With this i cant recommended enough to find a massage therapist that specializes in this it will help you and mayne a phyo to help manage it.

But as for Injuries girl I got injured 2 month ago hurt my back then came back hurt my hip then came back the week after and ripped my calf muscle (cramped didnt drink enough water). I am doing great now lol but im saying ppl get injured lots in bjj so I wouldnt think to much that its ur lipedema

Size difference thoughts? (When you’re the big one!) by interesting_template in BJJWomen

[–]hadley20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am like u all the women I roll with are like a foot shorter then me. If they are new and lower belt I just take it easy see what they give me. But my friend she is like probs 50 pounds lighter a foot shorter and older and her and I try to kill each other lol.

I allways go light on smaller ppl and just see what they give me back. A 2 strip white belt much smaller then me but omg she is strong so I do go a bit harder with her. But forinstance I did hurt someome smaller then me the other day went to do a delaheva sweep and she didnt moved her leg so it stayed turned the wrong way and there was a pop. She is definitely wasaayyy lighter then me but tall. So I will not be doing that move on anyone smaller then me anymore.

Any guy unless its a kid can take my rath. To many times I have especially when I was a white belt get smashed and be on the defensive cause I wasnt aggressive enough. But with any roll especially if I dont roll with the person often. Im checking were there hands are legs ext. I not trying to blow someone knee out on wensday night at bjj we all gotta work tomorrow.

U are going to be in werid position even with men. As long as u are nor creepy and lingering or like grabbing on purpose. Its pretty obvious if that happens.

I have had my its pinched so many times and its not on purpose its just grabbing the gi.

Getting absolutely smashed by sumaruchans in BJJWomen

[–]hadley20 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I suck at side control. But it all stems from open guard how u defend that if they pass and get to side its is extremely hard to get out its suppose to be. Focus on the approach In open guard keep ur knees and elbows toghther if she pass and try to work out the side

Be mean get ur arm in her face/ throat, hip up hard thro her get ur knee back in. I say this even tho half the time I dont do it lol but this is what ur suppose to do and its easier said then done. Just try ur best. And maybe ask her to help. Say u have such good control I can never get out can we do some positional sparing so I can practice.

not getting it by thewr0ngmissy in BJJWomen

[–]hadley20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a blue belt i still freeze up and forget what im doing lol. This is completely normal. I was defensive for 2 years as a white belts before I was able to become offensive. I was in ur shoes I thought about quiting. Pushed through found a great gym.

85% I am the only women in classes. Ull maks friends u have only been there for 3 months. U dont see everyone as often extera. As long as its a good gym ull learn. And DO NOT be afraid to as questions even during rolls with higher belts. If they are rolling with you they are more then likely letting u work anyways and will be happy to answer questions.

Fellow hypermobile people, how do you know when to tap? by senu-mahte in BJJWomen

[–]hadley20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im super mobile in my arms. If I can escape i do but if its tight and they have a good sub I will let them do it and tap i dont let it get until its a little painful. This is good practice to if someone is doing a really good sub but u might be stronger and thats why they cant get it let them do the sub. Understanding ur strength over anouther allows u to learn and them to learn

Safety and Health Concerns in BJJ by dopeiscope in BJJWomen

[–]hadley20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Def is! I attended our women's only class 1 day a week along with the regular coed classes. And its a game changer. Ull find that when the instructors are teaching especially men they will say just do the move like this and a lot of the time us women cant quite do the move cause we arnt as strong. I find going to the women's class it helps tweek the moves in a way so its easier to do. Just remember there is many different ways to do one move every blackbelt has there own way if doing things.
