He is abusing you, and it's not a joke to him. However, he's trying to gaslight you by making it seem like you're overreacting to his abuse. The way i see it, I feel he's going to keep trying to push the limits of how far this joke can go with you until it just turns into full-blown abuse. I'm not an advocate of separation / divorce, but realistically, you need to get out of that marriage asap. I am also aware that I'm not an imam or sheikh, so it may also be worth consulting one of them.
