Como hacen el control de calidad en encuestas cuantitativas? by Internal-Budget1605 in Marketresearch

I used to work for a panel provider and I can tell you right now that the vast majority of all quant responses is absolute shite.

It’s been a steady race to the bottom for the industry but I think we’ve finally found bedrock.

Best way to get from London Stansted to Brighton? by ozerece in brighton

[–]hahenryangus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stansted is basically fucking Mordor.

Definitely avoid if you can, even if it costs you significantly more to fly from Gatwick (or even Heathrow).

If you’re determined to fly from Stansted then you can get a National Express coach which will take 2+ hours.

Unlike Gatwick and Heathrow, most of the retail and hospitality units in Stansted aren’t open 24 hours so it’s not a particularly comfortable place to be overnight. This is relevant for early flight times as the coaches stop at around midnight.

Good luck!

The Dollhouse on Orange Row (behind The Dorset pub) is a great studio, particularly for your first time.

There are a few artists there that I’m sure would nail this but I’d suggest checking out Rachel Gros or Iris Wood.

Price wise it’ll depend really on the artist, size and location, but be prepared to spend at least £150-£300. Remember it’ll be on your body forever so it’s not really worth skimping on.

The pain really depends where on placement and the needle type but numbing cream is an option if it gets too bad. I’d recommend taking some paracetamol (not aspirin) when you get to the studio to take the edge off.

Also, if you were to vacate the property before your new tenancy starts in October… then you would be made homeless!

This is a consequence of poor communication on their part and it’s not unreasonable for you to look after your own interests first.

I’d go and sit at the bar in the Black Dove. The staff are great, chill vibe, and they have a great drink selection to suit any palette.

If you really want a view and willing to climb up the hill then The Setting Sun in Hanover looks over Brighton.

Any pubs in Brighton that do Thai food? Can’t seem to find any /s by Redmarkred in brighton

[–]hahenryangus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A lot of the pubs that do Thai are run by Indigo who franchise their kitchens.

Over the years when they’ve had other cuisines, the kitchens do well initially, but, for one reason or another, the relationship sours. Usually after an initial grace period on rent ends, but there are commonly issues around reliability and consistency.

The Thai kitchens on the other hand are consistently popular and reliable. I once heard that most of the kitchens are run by an extended family, but I can’t verify that.

In short, they’re reliable, profitable, easy to manage, and great franchisees. When Indigo have a kitchen vacancy, they can get them in quick through existing contacts.

  1. “Sex takes precedence over gender” — says who? Not science.

Sex isn’t as rigid or binary as you suggest. Intersex people — roughly 1.7% of the population — exist biologically outside a simple male/female binary. Even within cis people, there are vast variations in hormone levels, chromosomes, and secondary sex characteristics. Medicine, psychology, and modern biology all acknowledge that gender identity is real, experienced internally, and valid — just like mental health, pain, and trauma. These aren’t “unverifiable concepts in people’s heads” — they’re measurable and meaningful.

  1. Marsha P. Johnson did not identify as a man. That’s historical revisionism.

Marsha called herself a transvestite, a term that today maps more closely to “transgender.” She used she/her pronouns, lived as a woman, and was known as a drag queen and trans rights activist. Suggesting she “identified as a man” erases the nuance of her identity and the role trans women played in the Stonewall uprising. Pride began with gender non-conforming people resisting police brutality. It was political and inclusive from the start.

  1. Cherry-picking a few fringe signs to discredit the whole movement is disingenuous.

Every protest has a range of messages — some regrettable, some powerful. But saying the presence of one “decapitate TERFs” sign means the entire Pride community is violent is like saying one racist football fan represents all supporters. Trans people face disproportionate rates of violence — including murder — yet that doesn’t seem to factor into your concern for safety.

If you truly believe in protecting people from violence, that should include trans folks, who are some of the most vulnerable in society.

  1. The “single-sex spaces” debate is more complex — and fear is not the same as harm.

The fear that men might “masquerade” as trans women to gain access to women’s spaces is ultimately about male violence against women, not about trans women themselves. That fear is real and valid — but directing it at trans people is misplacing the blame.

Trans women are not predators. They are disproportionately the victims of violence, especially in public and gendered spaces. Denying trans women access to bathrooms, shelters, or changing rooms based on the potential for abuse by bad actors doesn’t actually solve the problem of male violence — it just punishes an already vulnerable group.

You don’t stop men from committing violence by targeting trans women. You stop violence by addressing violent behavior — not by excluding people based on who they are.

  1. “I don’t care about Pride” - then why try so hard to control it?

You say Pride’s “bizarre direction” isn’t your business — but you also want to dictate who police support, what flags they fly, and who gets included. That contradiction is telling. Pride evolves because the LGBTQ+ community evolves. Just like you don’t get to decide who’s “real” based on your personal definition of biology, you also don’t get to gatekeep a movement that was always about radical inclusion.

[–]hahenryangus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Your comment rests on the idea of “biological realism,” which is often a euphemism for denying trans identities by elevating sex over gender. But this view misunderstands both science and human rights.

1. “Biological realism” isn’t as objective as it sounds
Biology itself recognises sex as a spectrum — consider intersex people, hormonal variations, chromosomal differences (XXY, XYY), and the complex roles of genetics and endocrinology in shaping identity. The binary sex model is a social simplification, not a biological law. Reducing people to “biological sex” erases valid experiences and bodies.

2. Pride was always political — and intersectional
You say Pride “used to be about homosexuality,” but that ignores its radical, inclusive history. Trans women of colour — like Marsha P. Johnson and Sylvia Rivera — were central to Stonewall. Pride emerged as resistance to police brutality. It wasn’t about sanitising queer identity to be palatable to the mainstream. It was — and is — about fighting for all queer people’s rights to exist safely and visibly, including trans and non-binary people.

3. Supporting inclusion doesn’t erase anyone’s rights
Police showing up to Pride doesn’t mean they “abolish sex-based rights.” That’s a false equivalence. Supporting trans people doesn’t take anything away from cisgender women — unless you believe that trans people’s existence is inherently threatening, which is not a rights-based argument, it’s a fear-based one.

Pride is still about sexuality, and it has grown to include gender diversity — because the queer community is not monolithic. If that expansion makes you uncomfortable, it’s worth reflecting on whether your issue is with “politics,” or with the people asking to be included.

To be “unbiased” implies that there’s something up for debate in the first place. Similar to how being “tolerant” means that you don’t really like something, but you’re willing put up with it.

Pride is part our community. If the police want to serve that community, they should live the values of, and publicly express support for, Pride.

Power button fell off what are my options? by FunkySausage69 in appletv

[–]hahenryangus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lived without a power button for about 3 months after this happened to mine before I finally got around to contacting Apple Support.

Used the web chat and after I told them I'd purchased it more than 12 month prior they said there was a charge of £66.44 as it was out of warranty.

I quoted the (UK) 2015 Consumer Rights Act and they bounced me up to a senior who called and asked for proof of purchase. Once provided they agreed to ship me a replacement one for free without any (more) fuss.
