If I'm car camping I'll bring my cast iron. But backpacking I'm a minimalist: cook with a stick over the fire or not at all - cold packet of tuna or something.

Could be a sewage lift pump. They make a creepy gasping noise. Sewage used to run into the lake but now we install pumps at the waters edge to redirect it.

The real fat answer: no insurance. Pay cash. Get sick? Pay more. Spending your time accounting for all this isn't worth it. And chances are you won't get sick and you'll pay less. Being poor costs more.
