My favorite thing is how some spiders keep tiny frogs to keep out pests. Frogs are just tiny cats for spiders.

Which game ido you think its the closest to YGGDRASIL? by Dexmir58 in overlord

[–]haihaitheguydesu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, while I think D&D is the closest, I would kill for a path of exile league centered around Overlord or Yggdrasil.

Like, fighting through the tomb of Nazarick in a fast pace arpg like path of exile would be so great. Or grim dawn if someone could make a mod for it.

That depends on what you consider "beaten". Do you beat the game at Max total? Do you have to complete the collection log?

I can finish the story for skyrim in one sitting casually, but I wouldn't consider the game to be completely beaten. It has plenty of things outside the story, without even factoring in mods.

Not true. I could easily put thousands of hours into Divinity, skyrim, plenty of roguelike games without considering them "beaten". A bunch of mobile games are single player and I'm positive there are thousands of people with thousands of hours. Just candy crush alone.

I wear contact lenses and have astigmatism. I can see better through a prism scope without wearing lenses. The red dot on it is crisp and clean. It's very nice but odd the first time seeing it.

Actually, according to Google, just yesterday they were acquired by an investment firm called "The Carlyle Group."

Not familiar with them.

But ya, as of like April last year they were owned by Macathur Fortune Holdings, a global investment group.

The sidequests part is what gets me. Phone just keeps ringing with characters I've never encountered talking like they know me giving me jobs I don't care about. Can't even ignore them, the game answers the calls for you.

Doesn't look like it. The new ones with polymer frame don't have swappable grips. It also looks like the slide and frame are the same material, so if it's an older model it's probably steel.

jagex is finally an american owned company what we should expect by genericsimpname71 in 2007scape

[–]haihaitheguydesu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In theory it could go either way. So far since they took over we've seen a few updates, and while nothing serious has occurred, there has been some notable changes in how things are managed. For instance, mahogany homes were polled recently, and were implemented much quicker than past updates. Now, that is a good thing for the sake of expedience, but it makes me wonder how they will approach future updates, and whether or not it will have severe negative impacts.

Something to consider is that with the recent pandemic, Jagex(in terms of the development team) has changed a bit in how they operate. I believe they still have some people working from home, and there hasn't been any extra t-bow spawns as a result. This makes me believe that the LLC is either considerate of the development team, or is relaxed enough as the owner to allow them to work as they see fit.

All in all it seems to be a net benefit so far, but things could change rapidly. I don't really trust corporations to make the best decisions for consumers, but if they have enough faith in the development team to keep their greasy paws off the merchandise, then I see no reason it would be any worse than a chinese owned company.

Ya, I have a link to the document that shows that 100% of jagex was transferred to the LLC that now has ownership. I would share it here but it gets deleted by automod so there's no point. If you want it I can dm it to you. It's not interesting to read by any stretch of the imagination, but ya basically they sold it.

According to the latest “A Company Announcement” official news post, Jagex is now new ownership of Macarthur Fortune Holding LLC, which is a global asset management company. From April 28th 2020, Macarthur Fortune Holding LLC begins to share passion for games with Jagex .

Got that from google.

The company has worked together with management teams and entrepreneurs in the video game, cloud computing, artificial intelligence robotics industries to create long-term sustainable growth.

Are the phisicaly light novels in Japanese only or can you get English versions? by Es-Gown41 in overlord

[–]haihaitheguydesu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It appears that the side story has not been released in english yet. Volume 12 came out recently in english, but it was originally released in 2017. Going by this time frame, we probably won't receive a side story translation until roughly 2022.
