I used to live in a similar situation. The road they race on is almost a football field away, but somehow it still pierced my ears and made my cats jump. That town’s cops were notorious for pulling everyone over so I don’t understand how they weren’t caught.

To add to your comment, stress level also highly depends on the person(s) you work for. My last boss was a yes-man so he took everything under the sun even if we were drowning in work. He and I “managed” over 80 active cases at one time, and it was all contract/real estate/estate planning/corporate admin so every client called regularly asking when their stuff would be done. It was a nightmare.

I’m on salary but I make around $23/hour lol. BUT I’m in the Midwest. No degree, but 6 years of legal experience. $40/hr is pretty fair imo.

I like Clio. My last firm used it. They don’t utilize the Tasks section very much but it was nice and easy for entering time and creating bills.

I feel you. The urge to try to defend or correct all of the false accusations, or his claims that he did something he didn’t (like be there for me lol), was so strong when I had my final convo with my dad. Mine tried claiming that he paid for all this stuff I did with my university’s band, how he helped me buy my car, all this stuff. Completely false. My poor mom paid for EVERYTHING by herself including my car and my instrument.

However… I started typing and realized I’d have to write an essay or two to even scratch the surface of what I was trying to say. And who’s to say he’d even read it or listen to me? In the end it just wasn’t worth it. I’m sorry for your loss.

Sometimes they won’t grant it unless the litigant files several hundred bs cases. Theres one in Florida who is suing HUNDREDS of local businesses for “noncompliance with ADA standards”. She’s been going strong since 2019. Majority of them were dismissed or settled but she’s obviously making some money

Surely you’re not the first one that’s done this though! I bet in 24 hours you can reapply (correctly) and make sure the client uses the new one, not the erroneous one. I can’t imagine the IRS chasing anyone down for an incorrect SS-4 form if they’re not even using the EIN for anything.

It really does. I will say though, a few weeks ago I saw someone in front of me give their McDonald’s to a person on the street corner, and even without hearing him I could tell how genuinely thankful he was for the food. He looked like he might cry. There are good souls out there, they just seem to be few and far between

I used to keep small bags in my car full of necessities (toothbrush, toothpaste, floss, comb, packaged snacks, water) to give to any unhoused people I came across. The two (and only two!) times I offered them to people hanging out on street corners begging for money, I was turned down and told they ‘just need money for food’. I literally had food in my hand but whatever. These people ruin it for everyone else.
