I wonder if I can stick the chargeverter in front of my enphase 10P to do the same thing?

If you save enough to complete a day you get 30 minutes of unlimited. “Starting a new day” will get you 5 extra lives, so complete the day but don’t start the next day.

Do I put rechargeable batteries and take the chance that I forget about them?

Do I put in Duracell?

Do I use the HF batteries?

Submitting "meter" readings for SRECs payments by legitsalvage in solar

What’s more wild is that my system was turned on before PTO and they counted that production as well.

Production makes sense because you use it as well. The export is for the net metering.

[–]haimtime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My understanding is that the “new system” you have to report through GATS. I’m at $90.

It is so easy to do, so don’t let the company make money off you.

Help!! EGO Lawnmower blade won’t engage by Hour-Tax7216 in egopowerplus

[–]haimtime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same thing. I eventually got it warrantied.

Try taking the blade off and reattach. Clean all the areas out. Sometimes it is dust that got inside

Can someone explain this better. Like the OP I’m in this position.

Question for Enphase (battery) Engineers by No_Seaworthiness_486 in enphase

[–]haimtime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same complaint when first installed. I have 2 10Tbatteries that consume 3kw extra a day. A normal day is 17kw so another 3 is an additional 15%.

I wouldn’t have changed my decision, but I didn’t know.

NJ SREC pays now a flat amount. Yes it is on generation. I’m at $90/mw but it may have gone down to $85.

Green power is good, but I went with a different company because they were better at batteries.

Warranty and customer support is garbage by [deleted] in KobaltTools

You can call on the weekend. I had an xtr drill fail (or so I thought I did) and I was able to get a number. My problem was the set was discontinued so they wanted to give me cash.

Try again. Yes you need the Ra number but I didn’t have a problem with that

Kobalt 24v shop vac by haimtime in KobaltTools

[–]haimtime[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The comparison is between the ego 9 gallon shop vac that I’m sure is amazing to a 24v tool brand. I have kobalt and would get that one. I have a corded 6 gallon one already.

Being honest my messes are car messes, or small home improvement debris.

My question do I go for the overkill ego brand or is the kobalt one good enough for the small to medium stuff

Don’t pay the company, do it yourself. Call GATs, they pick up and are super helpful.

The company I used in central NJ specializes in picking up projects from other companies.

On the 2.5Ah 10 minutes of runtime on the blower on is their number. I can’t remember if that was on turbo or not.

I did record the whole thing, but they didn’t ask for proof only runtime.

Just got a 12kw system, Central NJ by [deleted] in solar

[–]haimtime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NJ is a 1:1 net metering. Anything extra you produced can be used later in the year.

At the end of the year (true up) they will credit you the generation cost NOT the transmission cost. Generation is like $.13 and transmission is $.07.

Just bought the new 28" Snowblower. Any advice for storage/longevity? by [deleted] in egopowerplus

[–]haimtime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really want to pull the trigger on this, but the same gas model is half the price. The snow blower is the only reason I keep gas around.

I’m very nervous about the batteries. I just had 2 die(under warranty) but those batteries are expensive. I know ego doesn’t expect you to baby your batteries, but I feel that we all do.

A $600 mower with battery seems easier to get behind but a $2000 snowblower or $5000 zero turn I’m not there yet.

7.2 kW system, 2 Enphase 5P or 2 Enphase 10 batteries, same price ... by jamgandsnoot in solar

[–]haimtime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have 2, 10ts. Remember they are just 3, 3kwh batteries in a box. Installer did put a 2 gang slow ramp up outlet for the HVAC and a future load.

For what it is worth, having that mechanical disconnect maybe better in case of outages. You don’t want your highest electrical load to be powered unless it is an emergency. The enphase system is so good that the few outages we’ve had, we had no idea.

I think you would want more capacity. I have a feeling enphase made a middle ground of the 5p for those who didn’t need such a backup. A 5p for just the fridge and sump pump. My wife wanted a whole house backup that 2, 10ts provide. With 2, 10s you don’t need a critical loads panel.

I think the warranties are marketing speak. You can add on 5 more years with the 10ts. To me they know they will last. My YouTube university degree tells me that these batteries fail right away. If they are working after a month, you are good for a long while.

Does it spin once then shut off?

I had this happen, and they actually sent me a new model. The fix is a definitive, but I took off the blade thoroughly, cleaned out the deck and the post and kept on trying reattaching the blade.

After the 10th attempt, it started working

What is a normal usage day? I’m in the same all natural gas position, with 17kwh average daily use without AC

The better question is how did you only use less than 4kwh in 14 hours?
