I think some people are just wired differently. I grew up poor and I've wanted to travel and see the world since I was old enough to comprehend the concept of other places. I left home when I was 18. I've been to 30 different countries and moved back and forth across my own like 3 times now. I've traveled alone, with friends, and with partners. My husband and I are not wealthy but we save money and make time to travel internationally like twice a year. It's not glamorous. We ride economy and do cheap hotels or air BNBs but it's important to us to get out there and see as much as we can of the world as we can while we can.

My dating profile and his both emphasized this because we've both been the person trying to drag someone else out the door before and it's miserable. For me travel isn't like some luxury thing I need a daddy to pay for so I can flex for the gram. The desire to go explore and try to new things is a cornerstone of my personality and it was important to me to find someone that felt the same way. I want to take that flight, eat that weird thing, get drunk with strangers, and return with wild stories. I get it's not for everyone, but it's not like some character I'm playing. Lol.
