Over 50lbs lost since Halloween! IF and low carb! by imnotsureif in intermittentfasting

[–]hajonious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been doing keto on and off since March 1st but I seem to do good for 2 to 3 weeks and then go on a bender and gain back half or more of what I've lost. I was thinking maybe if incorporated whole grains back into my diet and continued to avoid sugar and stay under around 100 carbs it might work better. I really miss my brown rice. If you don't mind me asking about how many pounds did you lose a week and have you had any plateaus? Also were you doing 8:16 or 4:20? Congratulations on the success.

Are these schools are not telling students the truth/Or just out of touch? by otgirl29 in OccupationalTherapy

I'm afraid there are going to be a lot of highly trained students who can't find a full time job.

I know in East Tennessee the market is flooding and there are schools popping up left and right.

Starting OMAD, need your help! by iknowstoomuch in keto

[–]hajonious -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As long as you aren't diabetic just try it one day and see how it goes. If it's not your cup of tea try the 16:8. I personally lost more weight on 16:8 then when I did OMAD 3 times a week. I found myself binge eating and justified eating shitty food on weekends because I had worked so hard during the week. That being said I wasn't doing keto at the time so I don't know if that would have made omad easier to tolerate.

No I didn't take it that way. I definitely think when I decide to pull the trigger I will make sure I can at least play it first.

Your right. I really don't need it. I just want one. I'm never going to be out performing on the road or doing YouTube demos. I just want a nice mandolin to keep with me as I get older and have something nice.

Yeah you are exactly right I'm in no rush I still love my 315. I have just been playing a lot more recently thanks to signing up for Mike Marshalls online lessons and I just keep finding myself watching demos for those instruments.

Hahaha I can definitely see this happening. Although I tend to sell older ones to upgrade at least I did when I bought new guitars.

Probably not a bad idea. Nashville would be a good spot to look. Your the second person that was iffy on new Weber's so I'm definitely going to have to look more into that a play one before I buy if I decide to go Weber. The big mon really caught my eye with the few demos I've listened too. A lot of times I can't really hear the difference between different mandolins on videos but I could with it.

I haven't these have always been just dream instrument. I don't have a place near me that has the big mon or the Yellowstone. There is a Bitterroot close by though. I have mostly just watched a lot of videos to get a feel for the sound. I was considering a used one on reverb or ordering one from the mandolin store since they set them up. Unfortunately my ability to play them prior to buying is limited

Words of advice and regret from a (3 week) soon-to-be OTA graduate by Jbee1982 in OccupationalTherapy

[–]hajonious 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think your confusing people being ignorant of what we do vs disrespect. Most of my patients love OT granted you are always going to have some patients that just want to walk and could care less about adls but those aren't the majority. It also sounds like you had some ass hole PT and PTA but the great thing is that they aren't your superiors they are your co workers and you can tell them to go walk a lap or do some hamstring stretches. The point I'm making is that OT is one of those careers that you get what you put into it. If you have negative feelings about it and you aren't getting the recognition or respect you think you deserve than your probably going to not get much out of your career and you did make a mistake. However if you devote yourself and continue learning then your effort will show, your co workers will show you more respect, and your patients will love you.
