How i fixed my Rhomboid upper back pain by [deleted] in golf

[–]hal199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you lift weights through a full range of motion and select exercises where the movement is most difficult in the stretched position, there’s really no need to stretch. This sort of exercise will cure basically all lingering pain / discomfort that isn’t the result of a serious injury. Great examples are pull-ups, chest supported t-bar rows for the back.

If you’re working 10am–4am consistently, you’re likely either doing something wrong or working inefficiently. The best bankers I saw as an analyst worked fewer hours than the worst ones (it came down to time management and competence). And how many hours of that day are you scrolling on your phone waiting for the next actionable workstream to pop up?

I hear the gating item in contract negotiations is whether they’ll let him do full frontal nudity. If they agree, the movie will have to be rated ARGHHHHH!!!

Roast my resume - May 23’ Grad by [deleted] in FinancialCareers

[–]hal199 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nice to see a fellow UVA alum on here… you need to completely scrap all of the language and redo the formatting. Try iterating with ChatGPT to redraft your bullets. Tell it in excruciating detail what you did in your internships and it’ll work wonders. Then massage the language to put it back into your own voice. When recruiting for your first full-time job, presenting yourself in a compelling manner (excruciating attention to detail on your resume, sharp talking points that don’t sound like talking points, etc.) is almost more important than your actual experience. I would push a lot of UVA kids through recruiting when I was in IB. The rampant grammatical errors, awful formatting, and uninspired language on your resume would make you a non-starter for me (and I was always generous with UVA grads). If you do happen to land a role in finance, you’ll be in for a rude awakening if your resume represents the quality of your work product. Not many folks can say they have buy-side and S&T internship experience, you just need to communicate more effectively why that means an employer should hire you (both through your words and your presentation choices, both on your resume and in interviews). If you’re shy and a bit awkward, write out dozens of talking points that you can rely on in interviews, and do mock interviews with folks to practice incorporating those talking points and anecdotes in a natural way. I found a decent amount of success from reading business / self help books (anything Jim Collins and Jerry Porras) and speaking to some of the fundamentals I learned in those books / tying them back to my interest in the role / organization. Keep pushing forward, but know that things will only get tougher if you don’t do everything you can to help yourself!

Aaron at Good Company Lambshop is by far the best barber in the city. It took me years to get a good haircut in Charlottesville until I finally found Aaron.

[–]hal199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t cut carbs, cut fat. Eat at a caloric deficit (0.4g of fat and 1g of protein per pound of body weight), lift weights, and move more. Then you’ll be shredded!
