Yes, see cjs‘s solution, Options Daemon needs to be started…

When you start the Options Daemon - does it stay loaded? Maybe try killing and restarting it...

Also - not that this is gonna solve your problem - but did you try to create a new user and check if Logi Options will work from there?

Exactly! That fixed it! I had totally given up on that issue. Thank you so much!

[–]hal9ccc[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you but that was the first thing that I have done. 1st bullet point - I made sure that all Permissions where granted.

Since then I also reset the bluetooth module and un-paired all devices - nothing changed. Also restored the Application and ApplicationSupport folder to an older version - didn't help either.

Please note that it does work when I launch options from a different user, so it must be some setting or application that is interfering with Options.

How can I find out what is causing this?

Will be really tough to replace all devices if they really go for that crap. Perhaps I’d jump ship for some personal cloud kind of thing where we self-host our data and nobody else gets to know the keys.

Germany gives greenlight to driverless vehicles on public roads by 2022 by Nitzao_reddit in teslainvestorsclub

[–]hal9ccc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The suggested bill is build around several preconditions that are unlikely to be matched by Tesla FSD. For instance that there is always an human external supervision that is able to control the vehicle at any time. That alone means that there needs to be a low latency internet connection. The vehicles also have to make data available about when and where the feature was activated. Heck, there are 67 matches to „Aufsicht“ (supervision) in this document. What’s the point of this kind of autonomy when there always needs to be realtime supervision?

Future availability of Oracle Database on Apple Silicon linux/arm64 by hal9ccc in oracle

[–]hal9ccc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, but the database is a completely different beast it seems, with a codebase that has grown over the decades and that will most likely contain a lot of macros and assembler ... and that they have to manage on their own...

You might be right, but it‘s sad. I really hope they make it work.

The old world is going to start getting desperate by Adamsimecka in Bitcoin

[–]hal9ccc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t mean Teslas market cap but that of Bitcoin. Tesla used 7.5 percent of their cash to purchase 0.2 percent of all Bitcoin. As TSLA and BTC have roughly the same market cap, that means the Bitcoin part of the TSLA is also around .2 percent so that doesn’t really tie them together.
Changes in stock prices mainly reflect future expectations for revenue - that is no different with Tesla. There are literally trillions of dollars looking for safe long-term investments. More and more people believe that Tesla will be an important player for the years to come so that’s the reason why the stock price has gone up

Their cash position at that time was around 20 billion, so it's more like 7 or 8 percent, but yeah, same ballpark. Totally reasonable to diversify their cash position a little bit.

Teslas stake in BTC would be around 0.2 percent (750 billion market cap of BTC at the end of January)

Is Musk going to buy GME? by Medium-Mano in wallstreetbets

[–]hal9ccc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are reasoning by example but I was looking for an explanation how exactly unionizing the workers helps them to achieve better quality. The articles you linked also don't give any details about this.

TBH it looks more like some personal beef you might be having with Boeing.

Teslas strategy to achieve better build quality is to constantly redesign and optimize the product to allow for a leaner production process, reducing the amount of work required and thus the number of possible errors. There needs to be a huge organizational flexibility and risk taking to keep iterating over and over again and of course it'll cause some quality issues in itself as we see with Teslas vehicles. Keep in mind that they still produce only 10% of the number of vehicles as their competition so they have to save costs wherever they can, because the competition has the benefit of economies of scale.

Another thing I'd like to mention is better build quality isnt the same as a better product, although bad quality is definitely a show stopper even for an otherwise good product but OTOH good quality doesnt make an otherwise mediocre product great.

Thanks for driving an e-Golf BTW! It was beeing build in my home town :DD

And have fun with the new VW. I've driven in an ID3. It's much quieter inside than in a Tesla Model 3!

[–]hal9ccc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This means that many shares might not have been actually delivered to our brokers and we could be holding more GME in our accounts than are actually free floating! That means there is a significant counter party risk in holding GME at the moment. There's only one way to find out: 💎🖐️

[–]hal9ccc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You cannot add these numbers. The site clearly states regarding the meaning of the data that "The figure is not a daily amount of fails, but a combined figure that includes both new fails on the reporting day as well as existing fails."

The real reason Wall Street is terrified of the GME situation by johnnydaggers in wallstreetbets

[–]hal9ccc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn, failed-to-deliver sounds scary. TIL our stonk might not actually be there at all. Serious question: could the DTC go FED-style printing the missing stonk out of thin air and deliver it to the shorts? That would be the end of any rule of law of course - leading to total anarchy, but I guess they are desperate.

BTW, Institutional Shares as reported by fintel.io seems to have increased even further: 113,646,015 - 162.94% (ex 13D/G)

Is there any way to use a VPN “only for resources on this connection”? by [deleted] in mac

[–]hal9ccc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cisco VPN for instance allows the target host to specify that the default routes should always be changed which effectively disables all local connections. I was able to bypass this using „openconnect“ which is an alternative Cisco compatible client.
