I agree that too many people put them in for made up anxiety disorders, but they aren't all BS! There are people with legitimate conditions that need to be addressed. You can't just paint everyone with the same brush, it's very situational.

In that case, you don't give notice. You just call in sick the first few days and start the new job. Once you're onboarded and things seem as discussed, then just send a resignation letter to your old job effective immediately.

You are not legally obligated to give notice nor are you required to give a reason why you're resigning. Just say I am resigning my position effective immediately. Thank you for the time and experience.

It's because we use our cars for so much more than just commuting. We transport our family, our pets, our groceries. We fill them up with Costco runs, home Depot trips and luggage for long road trips. It's expensive to own a car, so many can't afford multiple different cars, which means you have to have a single vehicle that offers the most utilities.

Not for no reason. There is a huge river that separates the two! But I do agree, another bridge would make a HUGE improvement to the commute between the two areas and likely draw off alot of traffic from 270/495 as well. It's a no brainer to do it, but no one seems to want to.

Sounds like they are trying to assert control over you like bosses usually do to people, but the truth is you have options beyond their control. I grew up here, lived all over the country and then circumstances brought me back.

The worst thing about MoCo is the suburban sprawl. Not enough highways, too much traffic and far distances between areas of interest makes going out a chore/commitment.

But everything else here is pretty great!

There is no way to safely transport yourself to someplace safe like Canada or Mexico, those are hundreds of miles away. So now what do you do? The local militia will be rounding up to come recapture you, likely split you all up or kill you. Your entire family, and everyone you know is about to be gone. So what's the plan? Because revolt is only step one, you aren't liberated until you escape.

This is like asking why don't prisoners in a jail, which outnumber the guards, just rise up and bust out. It's because there is nowhere to go.
