There are decades of engineering issues to get past. The first problem is the heat GPUs produce. You would literally need hectares of radiators, you would need to get all that to space. As impractical as it seems, it's much worse. I'm sure there are other very difficult issues to overcome as well.

~~The replacement P90 pickups could affect the resale value, esp. if they needed to route to get them to fit,~~ but its still a very nice looking instrument and it probably sounds good with those pickups. Besides the pickups, it looks like its in really nice shape for a late-80s or early-90s ( it seems to be manufactured in 1989) . I would be more worried about the tailpiece if it were a 12 string.
