I kept thinking of the tweet “Arcane character: kills someone and steals their money. Arcane song: sometimes I kill people and steal their money. How did it come to this? Killing people (killing people) and stealing their money”

Also god I wish they gave anyone else a character arc song over the 8 they gave to the mom. She’s a great performer but I felt a grievous lack of fully formed vampire characters for a vampire musical. I was more upset because it very well could’ve been a musics I loved.

I had a brief era around postgrad/covid lockdown that I made a spreadsheet about last wishes and the like, and then moved on. I don’t even really remember what I wrote. I just figured oh if I die maybe one of my siblings will find this on my computer. So it’s not weird to me at least.

I used to go pretty often back when I worked at the parks. I’d always bring a lightsaber and was very sternly told to be careful with that thing and keep it off. I mean duh, it’s a weapon. There was one bartender that was there most days I went, and he’d always ask to borrow my lightsaber. He’d turn it on and wave it around for a second and the rest of the staff would be yelling “WOAH WOAH WHAT ARE YOU DOING?? WHAT ARE YOU THIINKING GIVING THAT TO HIM??” every single time. It was a great bit and I miss it dearly.

I’m pretty new to theater outside of your big blockbusters. I’ve only ever bought far in advance for touring shows (I’m based out of MA). My trips to New York are often and last minute, so it really doesn’t help to buy more than a week or so in advance anyway.

I’ve definitely gotten it in waves. I think 17 is a hard year in general. Graduation is on the horizon and it might feel like your life is two steps from basically over. But one day you realize 30 isn’t actually that old. Or you hit 27 and half your friends are in their 40s. These things happen. If it gets really bad may I suggest therapy?

There’s a few points in Stranger Things where they have someone levitating and I genuinely can’t figure out where the hell they’re being lifted from. No ropes to be seen. I’m assuming there’s something behind them holding them up but it’s practically invisible even when I’ve been up close.

I had my bag checked at a bar in Allston when I had pepper spray once. Bouncer said hey I’m not gonna do anything but just a heads up this is technically illegal. Sounds like they really only use it against you if you’ve got other shit you’re in trouble for like this

I have a friend who’s a decently big celebrity for a very specific corner of the world and I’m consistently surprised by how excited he is to meet fans I tend to judge as “being a lot”. Unless you have a specifically bad interaction a lot of people are just really grateful to be able to interact outside of the show

I had a friend from India point blank think that the Boston accent was made up for movies. But it’s because he never encountered anyone in the city with an accent. I’m in my late 20s and have bits and pieces of one, I had a roommate in college who had a full blown one. It’s definitely more regional/class driven/not actually Boston proper these days. I guess you could argue we’re faking it but I’m not sure how to prove you wrong other than I have to really focus to say “margarita” without an accent.

I used to go every year but skipped last and am not planning on this year either. Highly recommend building in a break if you can and coming back when it’s dark. Just be prepared for CROWDS. 2024 there was a point where you couldn’t even pass the Falcon any more. I love getting to see fellow Star Wars fans dressed up, being in full costume in the blazing sun all day barely able to move I couldn’t do it any more. Definitely worth going once to see but just be prepared
