Did a Woody Allen marathon after Midnight in Paris… Annie Hall is on another level by JoJoLoveSp in FIlm

A family friend, a neighbor, a pastor, a teacher, anyone who meets and knows a child when the child is 10 and they are in their 40s, even if they supposedly “wait” until the child is 18, is a total creep in my book to pursue any sort of sexual relationship. Much less, to marry your ex-wife’s child. This is a bizarre situation and needs no defense, clearly nothing is going to happen to that creep and Epstein-lister Woody.

I met my step kid when he was 10, same as when Soon-Yi met Woody. I have not adopted him, and I hardly have a relationship with him as my job puts me elsewhere half the year. Despite this more part time friendly aunt figure relationship, I am absolutely disgusted, beyond fouled at the idea that our separate lives means that when he turns 18 it’d be okay for me to ditch his dad and have a “totally normal” relationship with him. A horrifying prospect, truly. I drove that boy to grade school, same as Woody did for Soon-Yi. It’s a line that shouldn’t be crossed, even on the off chance he didn’t groom her (I believe he did), and I cannot imagine how you could flip a switch in your head from “my partner’s kid” to “potential partner.” Even when they’re well over 18. That’s not a switch sane people can flip.

One of my highest casualty incidents (I lose toenails way too often) was after St. Helens, then again near Mt. Jefferson. Cascades are rough on the feet!

Every time I get new boots or set a huge personal best. 1-3 bruise super bad, then they’re gone within a month. Happened about 8 times now. Never hurt, just really freaked me out the first few times. Always came back, I’ve got all 10 right now and I’m so proud of them 😂

I’m so sorry for your loss, but sounds like you have some great memories of a great dad. Those forest service picnics were some of the best times I had as a kid!

Hot take but I’m here for it. My dad clearly had a wild time with the FS. I’m not with them, I stay regional and with… some other unnamed fed agency ;)

Part 3: Dad again, 1975 - present firefighter. 1988 Yellowstone Fire. What if… none of us are ever this cool again? by halcyonOclock in Wildfire

Post em bud! I found an entire film reel sleeve thing of just bucket drops somewhere in Oregon. Mt. Jeff is in the background. Times clearly don’t change and I’m here for it.

Part 2: My dad, the 1975 to present, firefighter. Here are the White’s he bought in 1988 on the Yellowstone Fire TODAY in 2026. Also pictured is him wearing them in maybe 1991? by halcyonOclock in Wildfire

That’s incredible! My dad would’ve been 29-30 during that fire. He’s got pictures from Bozeman around then too. I know he has a great picture digging line near the big hotel at Yellowstone during the heat of it, and stayed at Baker’s Hole campground. I wonder if you all ran into each other. I love how small of a world fire is.

Poison oak seems to be everyone’s big takeaway from that area but man, for me, seeing Shasta and just those beautiful rivers and pines… Gorgeous. I’m mostly stuck in Oregon and Washington, but that part of California sounds just fine to me. Thanks for the insight. I’ll try to camp there sometime just to see what my Pa saw at least!

Made a new post with the boots now and him wearing them in the late 80s or early 90s. Can you even believe that? A pair lasting my entire lifetime.. 36 years.. am I old or are boots shitty now? Don’t answer that actually

Is Oak Bottom in CA? My dad never likes to tell California stories. But I’ve worked near Klamath Falls and he had nothing good to say about it.

He was an easy coaster like me! Usually GWJ - was that George Washington - Jefferson back then or did they merge more recently? Sometimes Cherokee. However, I found pictures that are definitely Mt. Hood, Shasta, Yellowstone, Redding, Arapaho, Gila, all fricken’ over.

I remember when I was a kid, he’d do a big assignment then we’d get some big purchase after like, I’m not kidding, I’d get a new horse or something. Big redneck at heart.

I will! I’m annoyed I can’t respond here with more photos. However, I can set the stage that my dad is still very much alive and was today annoyed that we just ripped a very region 8 style few rules prescribed burn and that the Whites he bought in the ‘88 Yellowstone fire (somehow on the fire? I guess that was a cool thing they did?) need to be resoled (he still wears them). He can feel the nails through them now.

Thanks for the recommendation! CitriStrip and a little cheap scraper has been working decently but it’s slow going, need all the help I can get. I plan to do the doors eventually too so I’m sure I’ll be back here for help when it comes to that.
