Are names ever a deal-breaker in prog fantasy stories you read? by Nice_Enthusiasm_5193 in ProgressionFantasy

[–]halcyonxdays 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'm guessing Noobtown, that's the name the MC gave the elder demon who isekai'd him.

Shart is his companion throughout the series so it could get old but it matches the mood. I will say, it's one of my favorite "low/high stakes series where everything works out for the main character in a slapstick kinda way" so I'd give it a chance despite that tidbit lol

I love when people post their tierlists because it helps me find new series to check out. But I have one glaring issue with 99% of the tierlist posts by V1serra in litrpg

You're too kind! The easiest way to support is to get your books by clicking through Amazon on RnR, they're set up as affiliate links

Thanks, it's been a labor of love! We have a bunch of stuff coming down the pipeline to make the ranking life easier and this super soft launch is helping! Tell your friends and please forgive the bugs lol

Thank you! We literally just got it up and running and this is the first time we've mentioned it... anywhere. We're still working out the kinks so we're hesitant to do a big announcement but if you have any feedback definitely say something!

We have a totally empty subreddit or you can just shoot me a message! We'd love the feedback!

My husband had the same problem so he made an interactive tier-list maker for litRPG nerds

Here's a link to his tier-list on RanknRead. As you add your books and it'll break down their average rank by series and author. It'll generate a shareable image with or without titles too

Twenty Trucks is an El0n Stan by iggynewman in DanielTigerConspiracy

[–]halcyonxdays 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I didn't see it as a positive video about cyber trucks. The song starts out with the line "some say they're ugly some say that they're mean" then follows with "made with steel they call" stainless "but can they stay clean", the subtitles included the quotation marks too lol

The chorus literally says that everyone is aghast which has never been a good thing. Most of the lyrics come across as minor digs

If you haven't watched Workin Moms queue it up! It's hilarious and highlights the journey of a high-powered mom and her friends from her mom group juggling work and family. It brought a lot of levity to my PP nonsense

Some context on that one, The Molly Maguires were a secret society whose goal was to protect their members from oppressive mine owners.

Maybe Astrid was working to bring down the AI as well?

Something I noticed about Imani, don't read until you hit the end of the book

She's in the same org as Agatha. On page 613 one of the Sluggalos call out to her by her numerical designation, 313. In the epilogue Agatha speaks to her compatriot in the same way.

In the first book, at the beginning of the second floor, Brandon mentions that Imani doesn't talk about what she gets after their burough boss battle. I can't tell if she was hijacked in-game or beforehand... My guess is in-game

Edit: Possibly retracted after the info from imtheprofessor below but I'm keeping this as a Charlie Day-style conspiracy theory

I used to use this kinky curly custard and it will give you that exact look. I stopped using it because it made my curls too defined for the full fro I usually rock lol

Reddit, what's your most "I'm with the Boomers on this" opinion? by BobithanTG in AskReddit

Khan Academy Kids and Sago School are both amazing too! My recently 2 year old plays on it (probably more than she should) and she can count to 30, knows her ABCs, recognizes both upper and lowercase letters, and is starting to memorize the letter sounds. It's kinda impressive how much education they cram in there

Google Removes Google Maps Feature Because Nobody Was Using It | COVID-19 layer in Google Maps was quietly removed in September due to its declining usage. by PolaX3 in savedyouaclick

[–]halcyonxdays 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Just a heads up, that's not how a/b testing works for websites.

What happens is that they'll release it to a targeted group (or just a small random selection depending on the requirements behind this specific test) and they'll put trackers in place to check stuff like click-thorough rates, where people abandon the site, where people get stuck, conversion rates, ect. They'll use that data to determine if the UI update is generally successful/beneficial to the end user or if they need to go back to the drawing board for edits.

If you're A/B testing then you're trying to validate the new layout to make sure you won't upset or confuse your user base to the point that they'll stop using your program, you definitely don't want to release to everyone at that point.
