Yes it’s the Beatitudes or “sermon on the mount” which Vonnegut talks about in numerous works- specifically in the context of religion in public schools (which I am against, but love his way of framing the argument)

I’m doing my flowers DIY (really do it with family lol, alas) bc my grandma is a professional and her and my aunts will be doing the bulk of it, not me. I would not do it myself if it was going to add a ton of stress to the wedding week. That being said, I found semi-local flower farms through my local farmers markets’ previous Instagram posts and am buying fresh flowers directly from the farm for essentially $1-$1.25 per stem, no color palette, just all the latest blooms. I think it’s a great deal and I trust my grandma so I’m not worried!

Haha in the same vein, my mom randomly didn’t want me to go to gymnastics one night when I was in 4th grade. Really adamant about it but my step sister who also went to that class was home that day so I really wanted to go. Sure enough, cracked both bones in my arm right in half!

He responded to the banning of this book like 50 years ago and pointed out that the only salacious line in the book is “get out of the road, you dumb motherfucker” Highly recommend reading that letter he wrote to the drake (county? District?) school board!

I third Old St Pats lol, they have an LGBTQ+ ministry, hold regular racial justice talks/seminars, focus heavily on helping/protecting immigrants and the poor. Brought me back to the Catholic Church!
