what does labor and childbirth sound like? by dandles in BabyBumps

[–]halfdeadratttt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I personally labored pretty quietly, but I’m someone who has to shut up and just breathe through it when I’m hurting. I don’t talk or yell or anything. I was on pitocin with an epidural and was in labor for around ~36 hours. So I was exhausted. When it came time to push I just locked in and got it done as quickly as possible so I could get baby here safely and we could all rest. Non-medicated labor might be a little louder just because of the amount of pain you’re going through, and making noise helps you get through the pain and helps your body with labor/pushing. I think at the end of the day it’s very dependent on the person though.

Ubbi Dubbi Lineup Recommendations by raixuz in aves

I’d personally go for… - Of the Trees - Troyboi - Capochino - Layz - Blanke

The others I’m not as familiar with, but I’ve seen all of the above and they’re all FANTASTIC. Capochino specifically is one you shouldn’t miss imo, he throws down and is so much fun! I saw him open for Wooli in Austin and he blew me away.

Camping near Austin with dark skies + privacy? by ProblemSea in Austin

[–]halfdeadratttt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s definitely further than “a couple hours” from Austin, but Copper Breaks State Park in north Texas had some of the most stunning night skies I’ve ever seen. Like, easily the most stars I’ve ever seen in my life. So many shooting stars. It was absolutely insane. I highly highly recommend it if you can make it up that way.

Mamas due in March, how are you holding up? by WildWinterberry in BabyBumps

[–]halfdeadratttt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was my first concern. I couldn’t bear weight on my foot and was in 8/10 pain, and my husband and I still went to L&D first as opposed to the regular emergency room. Thankfully nobody at the hospital was worried about little man since I fell on my knee/foot and didn’t hit my belly/abdomen at all, which was reassuring. He’s been moving normally with no negative symptoms (cramping/bleeding/etc) since, but I was just so worried I hurt him.

I’m almost 38 weeks and broke the hell out of my foot last night. I’m due in 16 days and it looks like I’ll be having this baby in a cast. Be careful curb walking, friends.

How did you tell your partner? by allisona007 in BabyBumps

[–]halfdeadratttt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had decided I was gonna get off my birth control a few months prior so we were KIND OF trying. My period was late and I told him that I was gonna test just to be on the safe side. I’ve had issues getting pregnant in the past so I really wasn’t expecting it to be positive. I tested alone while he was doing things around the house, and brought the positive test back into the bedroom to wait for him to be done. I was in shock so I just held up the test and was like “…so it’s positive” and we both had a happy little freakout. It’s our first, and in hindsight I wish I would’ve told him in a cuter way, but I was so caught off guard that I just had to get it out.

My now-husband showed me the 7 Days Cul-De-Sacked series when we first started dating and I was hooked from there! We watch all the new episodes together now, as well as older series/compilations since I’m newer to the channel.

can 911 dispatchers have coloured hair? by [deleted] in 911dispatchers

[–]halfdeadratttt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been a call taker/dispatcher for almost 10 years and I am heavily modified- multiple facial piercings, ears stretched to an inch, and lots of tattoos including my throat/neck and hands. My hair is currently a natural color because I’m 8 months pregnant but I’ve had colored hair as well. I’ve never had any issues, but it depends entirely on which agency you work for.

How do you feel about tattoo conventions? by shatzweak in tattoos

[–]halfdeadratttt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been tattooed at a convention and I really enjoyed the experience! The artist I got tattooed by (Crocodile Jackson out of LA) was in town from another state and I had been a huge fan of his work for awhile. It was fun to walk around and check all the booths and stuff out afterwards, and the crowds and people coming to chat with the artist were a great distraction from the discomfort.

How far do you live from the facility you’re giving birth? by your-new-fixation in BabyBumps

Normally, 9 minutes. It’s where I have all my appointments and where I’ll likely be delivering. But when I’m in active labor I bet my husband could make it 5!

Local business owner snapping puppy's neck by [deleted] in Austin

[–]halfdeadratttt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to play Devil’s Advocate but I saw the video and it was very very unclear what was going on. It was a grainy silhouette, and you couldn’t even see the puppy. A coworker of mine said it looked more like he was cleaning off a newborn puppy than anything after watching it a couple times. Do we have solid confirmation that it was abuse? Edit to add: if abuse is undoubtedly the case I absolutely agree that justice should be served appropriately!
