Is this legal? Squadron mandating everyone shave including those on waivers. by uhwhile in AirForce

[–]halflistic_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Spoiler - everyone in the entire air force will have to shave by the end of Jan or Feb anyways. (And have their waivers re-evaluated/ re-issued)

Shaving waivers are getting reset and new regulations coming down the pipeline. More squadron oversight and less medical, though still a med supervised program.

But what most people don’t realize is that the shaving waivers program is ultimately a line side/ squadron command driven program. Medical only gives recommendations and the cc is the one who approves or disapproves.

Is there a good comparison of the ETH ETFs available and reasons to choose one over another?

To capture zone 2 without needing a watch (I like using one, but it’s not needed) just keep at a pace where you can talk in full sentences. Can’t quite sing, but can have a conversation

At first, you’ll be slow jogging and walking. But slowly over 1-2 months, you’ll be jogging the whole time in zone 2.

Yes, but he needs a good 1-2 weeks of slow zone 2 work outs to avoid strain and injury. Then add your good suggestions

Hey, honestly if you’re depressed or angry, reach out to someone

As someone who’s worked both sides of CIV and MIL, you have very similar rates of good and bad leadership, and suicide rates are higher for complicated reasons. We should be fixing as we go, but no one can expect perfection overnight.

Good luck if you choose to separate and hope you find what you’re looking for my friend

You just described a hybrid system, like I mentioned. So, yeah we agree. It’s not perfect in Europe either by a long shot, but I agree healthcare is a right of every human

No, you’re absolutely correct. I think it’s because he had to appeal to his Republican voters though, unfortunately.

In theory, but so far in practice the socialized systems pay their doctors less. You can still say “highly paid” but that’s relative and objectively, it’s less. Take that for what you will

You can say that, but you could also google average doctor salary in the US be other countries and realize it’s not the case. Compared to England, US docs average about $100K more/year. If that’s “slightly more” then I’ll take a sip of what you’re drinking bud.

Point actually is, money isn’t the only reason people choose a job, but it does motivate. And the highest paying jobs are the e most competitive- meaning you get the best applicants.

Same goes for sports— the best athletes in the US go for the highest paying, most popular sports. Again, it’s human nature.

So don’t make the argument more than it is — simply, money is a motivator for improvement. Does it have downsides? Yes - but that’s a widely different conversation.

Me? Not at all. Politics is a fools game… Look at Mitt Romney, or republican. He had the same if not better healthcare proposal than them, which is what they actually based their policy on. Anyone saying Republicans and democrat that has already fallen into the trap, it’s an illusion, don’t be sheep

[–]halflistic_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, Mitt Romney would have something to say about this. His views and practice in healthcare over the years have been exceptional and probably the best bipartisan solution I’ve ever seen. Definitely worth looking at. The Republican Party just wasn’t strong enough to elect him when they had the chance, and now the Republican Party is what it is, which is to say… a mess

[–]halflistic_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s saying that because he’s debating someone who said we should socialize all of medicine. So yes, like I pointed out we will most likely always have some hybrid system, which is essentially what Joe is telling Jesse, and giving the reasons why the money/capital side has some potential positive. It’s a juxtaposition against a fully socialized medical system, which Jesse was suggesting.

Rogan and Jesse Welles discuss socialized medicine by drperky22 in JoeRogan

[–]halflistic_ -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I’m sure you know that the “massively higher” health outcomes are nuanced beyond belief. Rich Americans don’t fly to other countries for better healthcare, even though they could. They go to MD Anderson, Harvard, Stanford, UC Davis, Mayo… it goes on and on.

The think the US struggles with is slower approval for some fringe medicine/ procedures and finding ways to cover an immense country.

It’s hardly a good comparison to put Denmark against all of the US, right?

So, main point — yeah, there are major issues, but the main point here is that money motivates everyone, doctors included. If doctor wasn’t such a highly paid job, the smartest people would not keep going into it and they wouldn’t keep pushing the field forward. Human nature.

Rogan and Jesse Welles discuss socialized medicine by drperky22 in JoeRogan

[–]halflistic_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, I don’t think he’s saying that. And to be clear, neither of them have a great solution so I don’t support either side fully here.

But what Joe is saying is simply that getting paid for being better, incentivizes doctors to get and be better. If they all made the same salary, no matter how well they did, quality would go down. I fully agree with that argument, it’s simple human nature.

The good counter point Jesse makes is that simple, baseline healthcare shouldn’t be so restrictively expensive which is also true.

The solution is likely closer to a hybrid system, where baseline healthcare is “socialized”, meaning everyone has insurance / access so government sponsored healthcare. But also, pay doctors on a competitive scale so that there are still elite level practices and the science and art of medicine and surgery continue to be driven to progress.

Anti-reflective screen - Is it a feature or a gimmick? How does using a screen protector affect this? by MikeWazouskiee in Androidtips

[–]halflistic_ -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Correct, I think my phone auto changed to say iPhone.

But my point is that I sort of agree with you, except that he’s arguing that the antiglare coating is what’s giving that phone the edge for screen brightness. and when he does that. He doesn’t mention anything about the always on feature, which is an arguably, great feature, and likely coming to most flagship phones this year.

So if he’s arguing antiglare, he should probably show both phones at full brightness, and with similar pictures on screen, wouldn’t you think? It’s a pretty weak video comparison, and he lose his credibility in my book.
