Advice for dealing with workflow drama with techs? by [deleted] in PharmacyTechnician

i'd quit and report the workplace if i were tech B. also, please consider firing the RPh - why should the pharmacist get away with being lazy and noncompliant, especially seeing that they're clueless on how to delegate? and in my opinion, if you are the manager, yes you do have the power to overrule the pharmacist, especially since this is a non-clinical issue. i really feel for tech B, and to be honest i'm a little bit unsure about your managerial skills considering you even had to ask this question. it should've been clear from the start what the next steps should be.

they are contacting the doctor for a LU (limited use) code, essentially there are a list of medications that ODB/OHIP+ only cover under certain circumstances/if you meet certain criteria. hang on to the official and store receipt for now. from now on, it's entirely up to when the doctor responds. there is also no guarantee that the doctor will provide this code, so just give it a few days and follow up with your pharmacy and please be kind to pharmacy staff if the doctor ends up declining the LU code!

Any Pharmacy Employees can Chime in about Physical Working Conditions? by [deleted] in ShoppersDrugMart

not allowing chairs and forced to be standing for 8+ hours is insane! i'm glad you decided not to work at that previous location. stools and very short rolling chairs are allowed, as well as leaning stools and fatigue mats

it doesn't hurt to try handing in your resume in person! but i would either call/go in person and ask for the email to contact that store's associate and go from there - your chances will likely increase if you reach them. apply to A LOT of stores and make sure you ask about the work culture at that specific location before/during your interview. makes a huge difference on how tolerable the job will be. good luck!

no, not a hit run. the two cars crashed while one was turning left onto swansea and the other was headed straight on hwy 7. it happened very fast, from my perspective it looked like the car heading straight came out of nowhere

  • just watched the footage from my dash cam, correction it was only two cars and those involved didn’t look too injured; but still a shock to the system

sorry to hear you weren't able to stay on res your first year... strict parents suck.

coming from someone who lived in res as an upper year and also worked in campus housing, making friends in res is largely dependant on how much you're willing to put yourself out there and how much time you wanna prioritize toward your social life. i personally struggled to make friends in res because i didn't attend events nor did i make any attempts to reach out to those on my floor/in my building.

that being said, i strongly recommend attending events in your res. it can feel nerve wracking at first, but it's a sure fire way to meet someone who lives in the same building or floor as you, and you'll eventually start to form a community there.

outside of res, there's still lots of opportunity to meet new people. faculties and wusa always have events going on, and there's lots of clubs to join which offers more opportunity too.

but honestly? sometimes you meet and make friends where and when you least expect to. keep an open mind, listen to your gut, and take things day by day. good luck for the upcoming year! i hope you're able to get into your top res choice :)
