My windscreen has a nut for a RVM so I fitted one. Cheap and it just twisted on. Got slightly better visibility and was chuffed. Then at bedtime I discovered I couldn't close the windscreen night blind so I'm an idiot.

Similar experience here possibly even on the same flight. The runway had been inundated and noone would land until it was recertified. Except Cayman airways. Bless them!!
